  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

No matter how pretty a guy might be...

Most of this discussion is about adjectives, not pronouns. Geeze! What do they teach in the seventh grade these days?

It's a way of dragging someone down in the mud with you.

Drag queens (well many of them, anyway) have this REALLY annoying habbit of trying to sum up a person in one word and then tag "queen" on the end of it as a way of deameaning them.

I, for instance, would be a "biker queen". Ahotjock would be a "Muscle queen".

it's a way of trying to take away their dignity, I think.

I mean, the only time I ever do it is when I'm trying to discredit them.

for instance, when one particular dweeb who posts here tries to make a big deal about how being bisexual makes him more of a man, and that he can "Pass" as straight better than us lowly fags, I make a big deal out of calling him "she" or "her" or saying "A lady needs to have some fun".

yeah, it's mean, but I'm an asshole.

Idiot me, after all this time and posting here I finally can sense your feelings and reactions over the "whore" thing.

I never understood the usage of female pronouns when talking about other men.

Does anyone know if lesbians use male pronouns when talking about other women?

That is a really interesting question lol , which i suppose will soon become redundant as we will never have a concesous(sp?) on it

I'm sorry; but neither my man or I have ever referred to each other as "girl"...never happen!

We married a man and all man *NOT to say anything wrong with the female gender; but we're NOT female*...if I had wanted a female I would have married a female.....

We also hear often other friends of ours talking in the female pronouns about each other and we accept it from them; but its NOT us...(*8*)

When I refer to a man with a female pronoun, it's either because he's in drag, or because I'm taking the piss out of him... "Oh, smell her," one says to one's friends when a particularly overinflated ego drifts by; "Oooh, guuurrrrl, somebody didn't look in the mirror before she left the house," one cracks to one's cronies when a tragic fashion error blunders into one's ken.

It's not meant to be demeaning, because we don't think there's anything wrong with being female/feminine; it's merely coded lingo from the Old Days when we used to have to refer to each-other in the feminine so that people wouldn't know we were talking about homosexual relationships.

Drag Queens are traditionalists in our own silly way, we're keeping Gay History alive for the rest of you macho queens who are too sensitive about your masculinity to take a little light ribbing.

Oh, and PS, I've never heard lesbians refer to each-other with masculine pronouns. But then, most of the lesbians I know can't stand men.

I dislike it.
It's stupid, and unattractive.
I agree with yas Gsdx

... And I guess that will be okay until that same spirit makes you speak of the "tits" and "pussy" of the male "whores" you hire.

One would never use such crass words in public! And I'd never hire a whore, I would hire an escort or a sex-worker... or, if I were in an historical mood, I might call him trade.

But consider the use of the word "mangina," or how frequently pectoral development is refered to as "tits" or a "rack," or the commonality of such phrases as "don't get your panties in a twist" or "on the rag" and, yes, "pretty" in a male context. Do you get upset about that?

I know that there are a lot of bitchy queens out there who do mean "she" and "her" and "girl" as a put-down. But pretty much anything coming out of their nasty whore mouths is a put-down, and it wouldn't be any less of a put-down if they used "he" and "him" and "man."

Don't worry so damn much about the particular words and start paying closer attention to the context, intent, and tone... that's where the insults are, not in the nouns and pronouns. That's all I'm trying to say.

This is an "escort":

http://flavio.tuyo.tv (I am not talking about "quality", the best profiles do not allow hotlinking and I am not trying anything more complicated than that.)

This is a "sex-worker":

And this is a "whore":

And they all are "trade", their johns included...

I'm not into effeminancy, and the language switch of he to she and him to her is anathema to me. A guy in drag will always be a he if its obvious. Even if you're the most limp wristed caricature there is possible, and don't call me dear either. That really gets my hackles up.
