  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

No one says welcome back or anything?

So, everyone survived? Well, that's no fun...

Thanks for the hard work guys, fingers crossed for next time.

If only Shelley Winters had made it through. Olympic swimmers get all the breaks in this life.

Hello boys!!

I see we're not totally through to the other side.

I hate absolutely everything about the update and "new JUB" and demand that everything be put back the way it was or I'm leaving and never coming back.

...the gargoyle kids, of course. Welcome, JUBbers, new and old.

What did I do? I organized my record collection, tried some new restaurants, and sent a bunch of stuff to a JUBber. Typical.

Well, the lacuna was spiritually painful and I was wondering, "Is it just me or is everyone disconnected? And how do we re-connect?'

Is there a lesson to be learned here?

I'm very glad that JUB is back online, but what exactly is new?

I thought the lay-out was going to change.

I think they've just stayed with the original skin after the upgrade proved too hard to install.

I joined a DVD forum, but at the moment, I am not allowed to post anything!
And before I forget, it is powered by Vbulletin software too..... but only 2,414 members. Considerably less than here!

I forgot to say that I had no internet yesterday, and that the reason for that was that the local exchange had blown a fuse;) I could not have got on here yesterday even if it had been back. As I have said elsewhere it has been a funny old week.....

I was a good JUB mod, and took a two day vacation to Toronto while the owners and admins completed the update.

I received some well-needed rest and recreation in Canada's largest city and did some shopping for my return to school next week.
I went to Honest Ed's for probably the last time (they will close on December 31), shopped at Eaton Centre and Hudson's Bay Company, and on my way home, I stopped at the Square One Mall in Mississauga to shop the first Maison Simons store in Ontario! Maison Simons is very nice, fashionable department store from Quebec City. When I used to go to Quebec, I loved their Old Quebec and Downtown Montreal stores.
And, this may not seem like a big thing to people in Ontario, but I had dinner one night at Swiss Chalet! We used to have a Swiss Chalet in Rochester until about 15 years ago, when they pulled out of the states. I thoroughly enjoyed my quarter chicken dinner with the famous rotisserie cooked chicken, their crunchy french fries, and their chalet dipping sauce.

On the way back, I stopped at The Bon Ton store at Eastern Hills Mall in Buffalo. I bought dress shirts and ties for school on sale, and deeply discounted! Bon Ton is another store that pulled out of Rochester in a dispute with the one company that has a monopoly stranglehold on all of the local shopping malls here. But I came home happy, relaxed, and with some nice new items to start my school year off right! :D

The fun bit was reading literature - the not so fun bit was shopping for furniture, various appointments and calling the electrician for an estimate to move/add sockets and light switches. Refuse to wait for roomie's dad to visit, the loose wall sockets vs plugs conundrum is driving me up the wall. I'm dearly hoping it's mostly wired down at baseboard level cuz most of the walls are plaster. I know it's been updated previously (as there are some obv new ones) but they put them in the laziest manner possible The switch for the hall light is next to a back bedroom, right where it isn't needed, ect. meh
