It was a bad decision to invade Iraq, but a decision Bush nonetheless stands behind, since he believed it was right thing to do.I'd agree, especially since, you know, President Texas Temper Tantrum started this war by lying to the American people?
Maybe it's a Texas thing to whine and carp and complain all the God damned time, so perhaps Laura Bush is just being true to her environment, but it seems to me she really should dry her eyes and, you know, think about others who might, you know, be in more grief than she and her hubby?
I'd agree, especially since, you know, President Texas Temper Tantrum started this war by lying to the American people? I have no real opinion about Laura Bush, other than knowing I don't want to be around when she's driving. But taking her at her word, perhaps it explains why Bush doesn't attend the funerals of the fallen: Too Painful.
Maybe it's a Texas thing to whine and carp and complain all the God damned time,
the bar is so low here - it's scary low
Thanks for proving my point! WAAAAAAA! WAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Apologize for what? For saying that Texans whine a great deal? In my experience it is an accurate, subjective statement. Many people say that New Yorkers are pushy, something I'd perhaps disagree with, but does that mean they're shouldn't say it for fear of offending New Yorkers? No! It's called an "opinion," and so far as I know, they're still legal, they don't require consensus. No one was harmed, no one was attacked or demeaned. Opinions aren't facts, and can be dismissed out of hand.
Now, as it is clearly right to hold an opinion, I ask myself, was texpatriot offended by my opinion? The answer is yes, certainly he was -- he accused me of drinking cheap alcohol. Now, am I going to ask texpatriot for an apology? No! That's his opinion, one that I do not share, but it is his opinion, and he has a right to believe as he wishes.
Having said that, I'm saddened that my opinion that Texans are whiners and complainers upset him and caused him distress; I regret that he took it personally, that he now thinks less well of me. For these things, I apologize, but not for what I said. After all, it's just my opinion.

^ Okay, let me amend my post as follows, because you are right: not every Texan is a whiner, but every whiner in Texas is a Republican. I would agree, that's my experience as well.
"Maybe it's a Texas Republican thing to whine and carp and complain all the God damned time, so perhaps Laura Bush is just being true to her environment, but it seems to me she really should dry her eyes and, you know, think about others who might, you know, be in more grief than she and her hubby?"
Much better -- much much better. After all, as we all know, the great and well-loved Governor Ann Richards was a Texan, and she didn't carp, whine, or complain: she kicked Republican ass.
