Did anyone check out the premiere last night?

Must say, I'm loving the fact that Julie Benz is back on television on a station that I don't have to purchase. The show itself, I'm enjoying it. Its different from what we really watch, but I enjoy the family element. To me it sort of took what Incredibles did and made it live action. Plus Autumn Reeser is back as well, I love her so.

All in all, this show has caught my attention for the fall season. Anyone else interested?

Oh and can I just say Kay is still one of the brightest up coming actresses of her generation.
 
I didn't notice this thread until today. Yeah I saw the premiere a couple of days later on Hulu. So far I'm enjoying it--then again I'm a whore for anything superheroey. What I find interesting is that the parents both have physical powers (the dad is nearly invincible, and the mom is a speedster), whereas the kids possess powers of the mind. I wonder if that was on purpose. In any case, I think this is one show I'll be tuning into regularly.
 
Definitely planning to check this show out. I don't know why I like Julie Benz so much, but I do.
 
Ugh. I can't stand Chicklis. I hate shows that have a pretty wife married to a big sloppy guy. You never see the opposite.

I only like the wife's powers. The kids powers are kinda lame and annoying. Chiklis' aren't that interesting either.

Willsboy I like that guy from CSI's new hair btw.
 
Julie Benz has returned to television. The third episode comes on tomorrow and I can't wait. However, I gotta agree, am sick of the Homer/Marge Peter/Lois effect. The hot wife with the fatass husband. Oh well, am only watching the show because of Darla, I mean Julie Benz.

Lol,,,I guess we're just destined to disagree...on like, EVERYTHING. I actually like Chiklis, and CAN'T STAND Eddie's current 'do(shall I assume you're being sarcastic?), but it's Eddie, so I can deal with it..| That man could walk around with a mop head up there, and I'd still be sprung!!!!

I do agree on the boy's powers being kind of lame, but the girls telepathy could be interesting.

What is it about Julie Benz? I thought I was the only one who really dug her, and I still don't even know why I do exactly. Lol.
 
The son's powers may not be the most flashy, or impressive, in the world, but I think it has potential. Let's say someone with super-intellect were to become corrupted, we could have something like Lex Luthor in the picture.

Chiklis is the worst. i've heard he's a real jerk in IRL too. I was not being sarcastic. I hated Eddie's old hair. He looked grey and made him look old and douchey. he looks cute to me with longer hair all pompadoured up imo.

I like Julie Benz b/c of Buffy n Angel.

Granted the 'celebrities I've met' category is pretty light but I have actually met Michael Chiklis. He's been nothing but extremely friendly and kind. Perhaps it's because I've met him only through school functions but the man allowed our LA "abroad" group host an event in his house, as in his actual house. Like I've seen the man's Emmy and he tells people to call him Chicky which is endlessly amusing to me.

The show is OK. A bit to hokey for me but I feel like that's what they're going for aiming for 'family' demographic.
 
^Well I'll take your word for it. He could have just been having a bad day when my friend ran into him. Having people in his actual home is major. I'm not even a celebrity and I wouldnt have strangers in my house.But I still think fat guy with a pretty wife business is way sexist. When Roseanne was on the air, they gave her a husband even fatter than her.

Yea I agree about the hokey family bullshit. I think since Modern Family is ABC's huge smash they're trying add a little more afterschool special fuckery to their lineup.

Fat guys having attractive wives...sexist? Ummmm, not really getting the logic there, and loving the irony of that statement but, whatevs.. It's crazy, but some people are actually able to look past physical appearances. Freaky, I know, but it does happen. Lol, you'd probably lose your lunch at some of the guys I find myself "crushing" on sometimes.

Basically an overweight man can be on tv with pretty women but an overweight or unattractive woman cannot be paired with an attractive man. I'm not talking about how people should be judged IRL. But how people are depicted on TV. Basically, a woman needs to be pretty and perfect even if their man is a slob.
 
Its a pretty common concept, but it really boils down to what you see in the real world. Even now, you see the pretty girl with the not so pretty guy. You wonder, to yourself, why is she with him? The simple concept girls see differently than guys. Sure I would love for them to do the opposite on television, but in a sense guys make their feelings about girls pretty open. There are some out there, and you're right they should be show on television, but TV is all about what sells. They know the pretty girl with the not so pretty guy sells, and it sells well.

Though I quite enjoy Chiklis and find him quite sexy, but that's just the boat I float in.

I enjoy the show, but I really enjoy the fact that Julie is back on television. I miss her Darla days with Drusilla.

I so cannot wait until Tuesday episode. Finally Stephanie gets into some REAL action. Fighting a fire powered being with her husband. Hooray. I wait until the day Daphne goes Emma Frost on someone.
