No Shampoo and No Soap

They aren't full of nasty bacteria. Where do you get this stuff? That's an herbal shampoo. Nothing more. And it's not full of nasty bacteria.

I just had bad experience anytime I tried that expensive organic food, didn't find it especially tastier, on the other hand, I more than often found damaged if not plain rotten fruits or veggies at the bottom of the box, well hidden underneath the ok looking ones... I even had 3 small spiders at the bottom of a pack of strawberries once, I was really grossed out...

This study says organic is literally full of shit
It's an old study, maybe they made some improvements since

Well I don't particularly want to "clean" myself with fecal matter ...
Regarding the strawberry episode, I did eat them the very day I bought them but you may be right that I have no idea how long it had been standing in the supermarket...
Anyway, I tried organic because it was supposedly more nutritious (proven false in the meantime) and to taste better (not in my experiences), so I'm back to my chemicals and pesticides and € savings...
That's just my personal opinion in regards to the alternative offered to the OP, as I said in my case I think it's already too late to start worrying about chemicals and cancer stuff, it's probably already building inside anyway :)

OK... there really is no need to try and pick a fight up and send angry post comments over something so trivial... I'm not interested
I expressed my opinion and provided support for it. Case closed.

Thank you.

i have bad dandruff if i dont shower twice and use prescription dandruff shampoo

I hate soap because it dries out my skin. I use body wash, shampoo, and conditioner but only wash my hair 2-3 times a week, but since I shaved my head, it's not even necassary.

Ewww. People who don't wash are revolting.

I use a blueberry scented shampoo and a companion conditioner. My hair feels super silky soft and smells divine. My hair is really thick and healthy and I've never had any problems with products like that.

Likewise with soap and shower gels/smoothies. I just got out of the shower and my skin is lightly fragranced with a slighty orange/citrus scent. Mmmmm. I don't wash my hair in the mornings though, just rinse, as I wash it at night to get the product out.

:clown: <- have I ever used this smiley before in any of my posts?

http://www.reshafim.org.il/ad/egypt/timelines/topics/cosmetics.htm - Cosmetics, soap, even early forms of deodorant were invented in Ancient Egypt. The Romans too had their baths and soaps. Also the Romans had a way to have heated baths... it's not a difficult concept.

The link you posted suggests the ancient Egyptians did not know true soap as such, rather than a mixture of lye with oil (or fat) that -unlike in real soap- did not react into the product we all know and love, but is just lye with some oil in it to compensate for some of the oil the lye stripped off from of skin and hair. I couldn't find any accurate information about it elsewhere.

Incidentally, this is exactly what shampoo originally was.

The Romans traditionally washed with olive oil and a scraper and changed to soap only later in their history (+- 300 AD?).

Are you guys still keeping this up? If so, update us please :)
JohannBessler, how come your brother stank years ago, and you don't? :)
Or am I (newbie) being really "THICK", and was this all in jest?

I tried going 'no-poo' and it's true you can keep your hair clean by just rinsing with water. The trouble is you have to rinse and rinse and rinse and rinse and rinse and rinse and rinse. . .
Google 'Matthew Parris hair' and get it from the horse's mouth.

Take That went through a phase of publically declaring that they didn't wash their hair.
Turtns out they meant just with water

Iranian man who didn't wash for half a century dies at 94

The Iranian, who lived in the southern province of Fars, had avoided previous attempts by villagers to get him clean.
But, local media say, Amou Haji finally succumbed to pressure and washed a few months ago.
According to Iran's IRNA news agency, he became ill shortly afterwards and died on Sunday.

You don't need shampoo, and you can even avoid getting your hair wet, as long as you brush it about three hundred times in every direction.

I'm told that it's what actors used to do. When I tried it, my hair was never dry, and because the oil in your hair is distributed evenly by all the brushing it won't feel greasy either.

There's just one problem; it takes forever to brush your hair that way.

What Harke says is true. I've been using a hair brush recently (as well as washing it once a week) and it has improved the condition of my luscious locks.

(I think this thread was started by Johann Bessler, but the OP fell down a disused mineshaft during a previous system update. Some other posts may have gone the same way.)

People who bump threads they didn't create are always sus.

I was getting eczema on my legs and i went to the doctor, she told me the soaps i am using is harsh on my skin. I had to stop using soaps with perfumes in it because it was too harsh on my skin. I started using sensitive unscented dove soap.

Oh dear, raising up an old thread is like digging up a corpse, years after the funeral. I am, of course just joking. I am glad usedcar, that you found something that worked for you. Bar soaps seem to cause me more problems than liquid soaps.
