Been arranging for several days to meet up with a young guy Left work early. Received last text at the appointed time saying it would take an hour due to heavy traffic and long drive. Now two hours later and not returning polite texts just asking to let me know if he has changed his mind. I have heard others complain of frequent no shows through ads. And I can understand a young guy changing his mind. But why would someone not have the courtesy to do something as simple as sending a three word text. Just don't understand. :(

welcome to the flaky gay dating scene. I hardly cancel unless something does come up. Of course, it will be these same people that will flake out and then complain why they're single. At least give a guy a chance at a date before you write them off.

Some people are just cunts, best you found that out real early with this jerk.
I've heard people say that young people today often don't show up for even weedings after replying "yes". I hope things have not gotten that bad!

He's a young guy, little experience, so I can see changing his mind. Just why not let someone know that you've been very friendly with online?

"Young guy", "young people today", if you're so old why were you meeting up with a young dude and taking off work to do it anyway?

This is the result of of raising children to be "free". Free of responsibilities, duty, morals, courtesy, discipline.

Seems to have worked.

Basic good manners should be expected of everyone. regardless of age.

That's one for Dejav there.

Well learning experience for the OP -- you don't know crap about people you try to hook up with from the internet.

"Old" into twinks is not unusual or deviant (I hope).

I've only ever backed out of one hook up, and that was right after I met him. I got the creeps so bad from the guy that when he turned his back, I ran right out the front door and didn't look back. I just got such bad vibes immediately.

No. But pursuing vastly younger people and then going into a rant about how they don't share your superior older-generation values seems obtuse.

I have no idea why he did that but I did that to people myself...not a lot...but it happened. It was mostly due to me getting a bad feeling or sixth sense or foreboding and I didn't care if the other person thought I was rude or not. A lot of times people called me a flake..I was OK with that.

I would do it again too...I am the only one of my friends from my 21st B'Day party that didn't die. I trust my gut.

It's funny, I have faith in humanity overall, I have people close to me that I trust completely, but I don't expect much from a stranger.

We are so blessed to have such a big bundle of tolerance and joy grace us with his presence here at JUB.

I had a thought that he wanted to sabotage the possibility of getting together. After agonizing over the decision and having made it, it, he probably didn't want to have to go through that process again another day.
