Movie fans have branded the theme song for Quantum Of Solace the worst Bond theme ever.

The opening track for the hotly anticipated follow-up to Casino Royale, starring Daniel Craig, was unveiled on several British radio stations last week. But it has been mauled my fans and music critics alike.

Written by White Stripes frontman Jack White and singer Alicia Keys, the song, Another Way To Die, was blasted by critics as sounding like a "shopping list" of violence.

Another said White and Keys' different singing styles "don't gel" on the track, while music critic Todd Martens added: "The first mistake was mimicking an iconic score with some electric guitars and modern effects, which is always, always, always a bad idea."

Even Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher waded into the row earlier this week - telling fans it was a "p**s-take" that a movie featuring the archetypal English spy was to be soundtracked by "a bunch of f**king Americans".

It's obvious that they tried to incorporate other Bond theme sounds in it but no - it doesn't work.

Dreadful stuff.

It's the artificial "Bond sound" what makes the song dreadful.

And the unfortunate lyrics only makes it even more painful.

The worst Bond theme song? Even worse than Madonna's Die Another Day? Wow, now that is really bad.

I think it's OK. It's bizarre, sure, but it's intriguing. I'd certainly rate it higher than "Die Another Day", which sounded like a friggin' demo for a song they never finished writing. (Hell, I'd put it over "All Time High", too - that crap was just DULL.)

The Garbage song I thought was great - it managed to both keep the feel of some classic Bond numbers, but still sound different. The Chris Cornell song? Ugh.

>>>And really, if it isn't "The Spy Who Loved Me," it's just another Bond Theme anyway.

Um, you mean "Nobody Does It Better"? :) Yeah, that's one of the best.

I guess it doesn't surprise me that I'm the only defender of the tune. (I can't say I'm a fan - just don't think it's that horrible.) I'm the only one I know who likes a-ha's "The Living Daylights", too. :D

Sorry, green friend but you're not the only one who likes "The living daylights". I know it's not the best of the series, but I can think of a dozen worst Bond songs, including "Another way to day", of course.

Add me to the list of lovers of "The Living Daylights". Say what you will about the film, or Timothy Dalton, but damn the theme song is catchy!

I Love Die Another Day by Madonna, i thought it was fantastic.

This song is ok..

Amy would of done a better bond theme..

Horrid.

Told you they should have called Shirley Bassey :p

I liked it. It definitely wasn't one of the best Bond themes, but it's not the worst - that distinction belongs to a-ha. I give credit to Jack White for trying something different. Everybody relax, it's okay.

Top 5 Bond Themes...so far

Nobody Does It Better - Carly Simon
You Only Live Twice - Nancy Sinatra
Goldfinger - Shirley Bassey
Live and Let Die - Wings
A View to a Kill - Duran Duran
