  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

None of these kids are old enough to drink

Do you have a solution? I used to think I did, but I don't. The problem is within humanity itself.

Hooray for american gun laws?

Without more information we can't be sure if it's a gun law Fail. You may (or may not) be surprised how easy it is to get a gun illegally. Hell, if you've got $50 it's easier to get a gun than a job. (Relatively easy though, in the long run, it could potentially end up costing a lot more than the $50).

And why is that? Are you telling me it is NOT that easy to get guns illegally because of said gun laws?

I'm not well-versed in gun-laws, is there a specific law you're referring to or a general lack of restrictions? I'm not seeing the correlation because (I'm assuming) none of these killers obtained these guns legally. The law is irrelevant to people who don't pay attention to it.

So... How do we fix the problem? Can we maybe try to spend some time to at least get some ideas together?

Sure, you go first. It's a complex issue, like a pile of mixed up cables, all the same color. If I had answers I'd be in Washington, not on JUB.

The american gun laws are very lax (compared to other countries). Thus it is *very* easy (and cheap) to get your hands on guns. And idiot who has a gun will eventually use it at some point.

Have you ever watched "Bowling for Columbine"? Even taking into account that it is probably very exaggerated it is still very scary.

I am not saying that stuff like that doesn't happen with more restrictive gun laws, but it does happen much less.
I only remember two shootings in my city (top 10 in size in Germany). And both of them were due to organized crime.

Okay I got'cha. We do need tighter restrictions for legal arms but also do more focus on stopping the illegal arms trade. Those guns are coming from somewhere, somebody is selling them.

Maybe we can borrow one or two of the thirty officers it takes to escort Britney Spears into Starbucks and put them on the case.](*,)
