Haha I live in Smithfield and yes, NC has its downfalls - especially when all that surrounds you are rednecks and farmers. Ah, the life.......that's why I long to live in New York someday

I live in Winston-Salem. The view is amazing. There are so many hot boys in this neighborhood. In fact, I think this is where they breed them, haha. Even if they could be bought, I wouldn't have enough to even cover what they make on allowance.

So much for close-knit, wealthy, southern-conservative, bible-belt, educated boys. At least the view is nice. Here comes one now!
 
I'm a little late for this, but I live in Connellys Springs which is near Hickory for anyone who doesn't know. Let me tell you that I don't think there is a gay or bisexual guy within walking distance of where I live.

It's never too late to hollar in here. The heritage and vast expanse of the savannah's gives no way to peculiar breeds. I bet the majority of them are lurking in our 'World's Oldest' mountain range. Namely, Asheville.

But today I turn 24. Hopefully I can understand the word fufillment in this lifetime. Hope has not left yet.

Holy shit guys.... I've never been to North Carolina but I've seen pictures.. It is one of the most beatufiul states in our country. Full of history and beautiful scenery.
Surely there is more to do than just look for gay guys there? Great schools, colleges, hiking, fishing, boating.... libraries.... just imagined if you lived in Iowa?
Well, I've never been there either, but I figure it'd be worse than NC.
 
I will agree with you Tonyboy. NC is a beautiful state. I've had the benefit of living in the mountains and now on the coast and both places are gorgeous. One problem with meeting people here that I can come up with is, and I don't mean to offend anyone, but NC is located in the middle of the Bible Belt. This is a highly religious area. If you are even suspected of being gay, you are immediatly an outcast because you are an abomination to God. This has happened to a few people that I knew in the mountains. One of them moved to Atlanta just to get away from the religious sect. I think if you live in a larger city like Charlotte or Raleigh, things wouldn't be so bad.

I live near Raleigh and I love this state. A lot of natural beauty exists around here. I have found the gay life to be quite bountiful in the Raleigh area. If you don't believe me check out any of the gay cruise websites. Craigslist is inundated with guys looking to hook-up. Match.com has numerous men seeking men relationship queries in the area. Maybe it's because I live near the city that I find it so plentiful. I'm sure the rural areas are less gay populated. Regardless, my point is NC is a great place to live. Beach, mountains and nice in between. Hot as hell summers but other than that it's great.
 
I to live in NC and definitely struggle with living here sometimes. Luckily I live in the Charlotte area and while its not the most gay friendly city in the world its pretty tolerant on the whole, most people I meet are pretty tolerant especially around the university and downtown.

I have heard Raleigh has a great gay scene as well.....I would personally never live in another city in NC other than Charlotte or Raleigh. Like someone else mentioned I have met some great gay guys in Charlotte, it just depends on where you go and who you meet. I usually go to the Eagle when i'm in Charlotte, haven't really had much luck meeting a lot of friendly people at Velocity, Chaser's, or Liason's.

In saying all that N.C. is a beautiful state!
