Diane Sawyer was too easy on Rihanna, they should of have Barbara Walter get on that ass. What about the stories that her friends and family have said there have been altercations between them before the "incident". Some women like being in those love/hate relationships. Diane should have confronted her more on that little vacation she had with Chris afterwards. She couldn't have been that embarrassed she was happy. Lets be real if Rihanna wasn't a big a star she is, she would go back to Chris. But only because the public wouldn't approve and the money is good now, she not going to him anytime soon.

Right, because grilling a young woman who has been abused and is humiliated because she went back is really necessary for us. We need every sordid detail of her business so we can be suitably satisfied that we got the WHOLE story.

She was beaten. She is ashamed at the decisions she made afterwards. She is using her story in an attempt to educate. Is that not enough?

She is using her story in an attempt to [STRIKE]educate[/STRIKE] increase record sales. Her music video for Russian Roulette was supposed to premiere right after the interview was over. Her label is very smart in milking this. [-X.

I'm not so cynical that I believe that's the only reason. Many stars, when presented with such an interview, would have talked a little about it and then moved on. The whole interview was about that incident and its aftermath. Just because the record company wants the publicity doesn't mean the young woman is doing it for only that reason.


And as for your original comment about how you didn't like how it made him out to be a monster? We didn't see the same interview apparently, because that was not how he was portrayed at all. He got off rather lightly legally and publicity-wise. She was far kinder than she could have been. In the moment when he was nearly killing her, he WAS a monster. Any man who gets to that place in his head is a monster in that moment.

Are most of you people that stupid that you don't realize the timing of these "interviews" are nothing more than infomercials for the release.

If it wasn't for the beating no one would have been talking about her anymore. It's the best thing that could have happened to her, career wise. Sad but true. Same with Whitney Houston.

Screw you. If you actually read what was written rather than bleed your moronic opinion, you would have seen that I said, "I'm not so cynical that I believe that's the only reason." I acknowledged the record company's motives. It's a shrewd move, and any time a celebrity does an interview, it's for publicity. She just might have other motivations as well, was my point.

The feeling I got from the interview was that she still wants him back but she's aware of the impact of doing so, not just from a celebrity viewpoint but as she pointed out, the impact it would have on impressionable young women.

As much as I believe a person can change, Oprah is completely right. If he hits you once he will hit you again. I sincerely believe that if given the chance, Chris will do anything he can to never repeat that, but I also believe that despite his best intentions, he probably will.

Rhianna also said that she had nowhere to go when she was in the car. They were in a residential area, for God's sake all she needed to do was run to the nearest house to call her assistant or whatever (911 is the obvious choice here but Celebs think differently).

It's also pretty obvious that it was timed to coincide with the release of Russian Roulette. But it doesn't matter anyway. I'm glad she got her story out, and I'm glad she's using the opportunity to spread awareness to women that it's never ok to be abused by the person who claims to love you.

Please Rhianna is a huge star, she can sing "Hickory Dickory Dock" and it would reach number one on the billboard charts, she does not need to exploit this situation to boost album sales. There was no way that girl could promote an album and not address the events of that night, I think the only stupid one here is you, go play in traffic, i'm over you. :wave:

I cant stand it when hit songs never get a release. The video for Hatin On The Club would have been epic. My vision is 1950's with Rihanna and 3 back up singers with big 50's hair, rocking side to side.


At least Te Amo made the Rated R but its so old now i doubt it would get a release as a single although that would have been a sexy video.

I am picturing Catalina Sandino Moreno as Rihannas love interest for the video. The two of them would be smoking hot dancing together.

Does anyone think that the reason they didn't show Rihanna's video for Russian Roulette Friday night is because of what happened at Fort Hood. They might be editing that shit right now. But we all know what going to happen anyway, Rihanna will release her video and then Beyonce's video phone pops up.

Oh I didn't know this. I thought it was a new song for her next CD when it came out. I love that song, it sucks that they didn't release it officially.

I don't think we know the whole story still. Didn't like the interview. They both need to mature first and then work on a relationship. As far as them seeing each other, they need to stay apart - period.

Several months have passed since the incident. If she would have addressed it even one month ago, the interview wouldn't of reeked as opportunistic.

But that's ok, keep fooling yourself that this wasn't timed to promote the release and keep fooling yourself that she's an "artist".

I didn't watch the entire interview. Saw a part of it on youtube. Well I have a new respect for her to go on record and talk about something so troubling. The details of the story are kind of scary. I hope this interviews sends Chris Brown's career down the shitter.

I knew Ne-yo was not telling the whole story. Thinking about it now Ne-yo never actually said it was about the game, he just gave a blank statement, "i thought it was an interesting topic over a crazy beat" He didnt specify the topic. Its just that Access Hollywood twisted his words to make people think that Ne-yo was talking about what they were talking about in the lead up.

Rihanna is being interviewed on MTV's "It's On with Alexa Chung" now and Alexa asked her about Russian Roulette and she said, "well Ne-yo and i were bouncing ideas back and forth we came up with Russian Roullette. I love the song because lyrically its so deep and powerful and i love all the metaphors within the song."


How does the juicy pie in the face taste to all the people who couldnt realize that the song had meaning. And couldn't pick up the obvious metaphors lol


The interview is going on now (live) so its not on youtube yet; but as soon as it gets on youtube i will be posting it in this thread so you can get the slap in the face direct from Rihannas mouth.


The singer herself sets the record straight for all the silly people that failed high school English and don't know what metaphors are.
