Not Just Us Boys

I can't even imagine what 'Reviva' has been through.
I can only hope she triumphs eventually and lives the life she wants to live.
I've had it so easy.

I feel blessed to not have to face the struggles she faced... but at the same time I feel like she's even more blessed for having the courage to do what she did. I think if I were in her shoes, I would not have been able to do what she did.

Heartbreaking. All I read was 'religion, control, pain, control, religion, control....' It is pretty terrifying, but she sounds very brave. Whoever this girl is, she is a real inspiration. I hope she is able to heal mentally, and I hope her parents never find her.

WOW! What a horribly sad story. I am glad she was able to find help and get out.

Stuff like this goes on in the states too within the Christian religion, especially here in the deep south. I remember a story about a year ago of a father shooting and killing his son because the son told the father he was gay.

We all know about the "treatment centers" where people are sent to be "cured" of their gayness. It appears to me there is huge need to educate people that it is OK that your son or daughter is gay. They are still your child, just love them the way they are and that being gay is not a choice, but is biologically based.

It appears to me that a great deal of harm is occurring all in the name of religion.

That woman has a very brave soul, to refuse camouflaging in dangerous times of her life and to even fight back. Just by not retreating from her ideals, she has already proofed herself strong.

Sad it is that the same thing can hardly happen in Middle-East countries, where there are no protective organisations for LGBT people.

It's so sad and beautiful at the same time. She's very brave.
