I find it hilarious that they're on these sties (adam4adam, craigslist) looking for something MORE than a hook-up. If you want to do online dating, use chemistry.com etc...don't go looking for a LTR on craigslist. What I'm usually curious about is whether they really want a LTR, they just don't want to look like a whore, or they're just helplessly delusional.

A guy contacted me a few days ago saying "you're really hot, loved your profile and would love to hook-up some time".

I responded "thanks", attached my email and added "i'd be happy to chat some time.

His response? "my boyfriend doesn't like me chatting to other guys so bye".

Those sites are packed with weirdos.

If, like me, you find yourself reading online personals ads late at night, you may have wondered about the ubiquitous ads of guys whose profiles insist they are not looking for sex, they are only looking for friends, for someone to hang out with, or for Mr Right and a ltr.

My question is why are these guys always looking so late at night (booty-call hours)?

(Excluding the ones who are looking at weird hours because they are deep in the closet and can only get a little computer privacy at those hours.)

Funny..Bcause i do that sometimes but i don't say not looking for sex..It's just that i have a hard time to sleep so sometimes i look to see who's there ( GAY411), and i guest when you specify that you<re not looking for sex, it eliminates some unwanted requests. On my profile i say that i prefer to see the guys dressed. Anyway those sites are not working for me any tips ;)

I think he means that the vast majority of users on adam4adam, craigslist, manhunt are looking for sex. Whereas on certain other sites (that I don't even know the names of), there are more people looking for relationships or just buddies.

Exactly. You don't look for love on craigslist...

Craigslist, adam4adam, manhunt, etc. are basically hook-up sites. Most users have profiles up looking for sex.

Sites like chemistry.com and others (I know match.com doesn't accept gays...) are usually used for romance/love/LTR's.

They can't sleep, are bored, or are settling for a booty call while still looking for a relationship.

But a LTR can come from anywhere.

Craigslist.

Sitting next to a guy a bar.

Adam4adam.

Someone you work with.

gay.com

Some dude at a bus stop....

Just saying, love can come from the unlikeliest places.

I met my partner in a gay bathhouse.....

Um, maybe they just got off work?

First thing that came to my mind.

WTF does the time that they are online have to do with their intentions?

I am more confused by the guys "not looking for sex" but sporting tons of nude or erotic pictures ;)

The ones that really get me wondering are those that claim they have found their man (partner) yet are on manhunt etc ALL THE TIME....
You guys SUCK and not in a good way.

If you are partnered then why the fuck are you on manhunt???

LOSERS....
Well thank you. Even in my LTR I was online at a gay chat/dating portal "all the time", as I am online on an Instant Messenger "all the time". I have "real" gay friends that are there, I have chat buddies there. Even it seems to be unbelievable for you - in a relationship you still have friends. If YOU can't keep your dick in your pants or are not strong enough to send people who are looking for sex the other way, don't judge others based on your shortcomings ..

I actually met my husband on gay.com at 3 in the morning and both of us were just looking for friends. you never know what will happen, or where love is. i happen to be a night owl so it worked for me.

I was thinking the same thing. i came across a profile the other day of this guy who was naked in every picture, with this amazing body. his profile said "if you make any comment about my looks you will be blocked" i couldn't help but wonder why he had all naked pics then...
