So I'm working on a piece about scammers in politics and came across this madness.... So Devund Tinson AKA "David Cunningham" breaks into homes and squats, allegedly attempted this scam on Tom Cruise's house. Anyway so she gets into someone's house, draws up a fake lease, changes the locks and throws a housewarming party.

The neighbors alert the homeowner who calls police and I guess they broke up the party and arrested her. Apparently she's a well-known scammer in LA. "David Cunningham" stole that name from a judge he was stalking.

Alleged text messages from a guy who spent the night with, uhh, "David."

I've fallen down one of those rabbit holes where you find a thread full of sub-threads with more testimonials from people who had the unfortunate luck of meeting "David." They've all got receipts too. Anyway, of course naturally you know where this con artist's life was headed: in 2021 was a candidate for LA city council. It's weird to read about all these scams and then know if he hadnt gotten caught he'd potentially be working in government. I cannot with this story, literally taking like an hour break to just deep-dive into this mess cuz BITCH it is some T.E.A.

Justice was semi-served but she'll probably be out of jail by springtime and back to her old tricks, and probably working in govt cuz we can't even be bothered to do a cursory google check to vet candidates ](*,)

No tea no shade but unless she stuffed her briefs on tiktok it looks like she got some low-hangers (and quite a bit of meat). I dunno how she fooled anybody though, she looks like evil personafied, like she'd steal your eyeballs if she had half a chance.

Can you imagine coming home and you're locked out and somebody else is having a housewarming party in there? I'd be kinda fucked, I don't have my new ID with updated address and any proof that this is my residence would've been inside the house. This is so bizarre, and if she didn't get caught she might end up in government where her stunt powers increase 1,000-fold.
