so I actually have no idea what I came here to write about, just the sudden urge to write something I guess.
sat in stacy's kitchen eating my poptarts (very adult choice of breakfast) wandering how I managed to spend all the money I brought with me in 1 shopping trip (worth it though, cute stuff hehe) and right about now..........don't want to go home to the UK...at all, ever.
I have always had plans to move out here and now its like "i'm here now, can I just stay?!"
as good as it is to live in the uk, you can do what you want, be who and what you want and nobody really cares as long as its not illegal (because they don't like doing the paperwork) which is great! you get to be yourself with minimal hassle and very little outward predjudice.
but this is also a bad thing, the UK has turned into a free-for-all politically speaking, and your now free to do pretty much anything.....as long as your not British or a christian
before people jump on me, this is NOT an attack on multi-faith socieities, minoriy groups etc.. or anything else, its an "attack" or sorts on my home country's government, they are so terrified of offending anyone or looking too harsh to the rest of the world that criminals end up with more rights and better accomodation than their victims! christmas lights get renamed "festive illuminations" because apparently the word christmas is highly offensive to all non-celebraters........sorry but, christmas is something that is done in britain, the birth of christ is celebrated by christians, something britain has a lot of, and if your living in britain surely you should have to intergrate and accept the culture you live in?
whenever I go away to another country I dont walk around thinking "we dont do it like that in britain, i wonder who i can complain to and get them to stop..?" thats just rude!
i wouldnt walk in to someone else's house and redecorate because it doesnt look enough like my house, so why do my government insist on changing things to make them "less offensive to non-brits living in britain" even when no one has actually complained! sorry but fuck'em, they chose to live in the UK, they should have to accept the social and religious differances of the country they live in.
i am not saying dont welcome people of differant cultures and faiths, we do it all the time, its everywhere, and its great! but in order to accept others we dont need to change the way we behave, just the way we think, just involve others and accept the fact they are differant, learn from the differances, not run arorund trying to make it look like the differances arent there.
ok, i am gonna stop now before I REALLY go on one about this.
again....not attacking anyone! just venting something that has been on my mind since things started to get changed without reason.
