So the story here is that Obama's peeps - meaning Obama too btw - are pissed at Joe Biden for "forcing" the convo on same sex marriage

Hmmmm

Me no likey this and there's conflicting stories one even saying JB has counseled the Pres. in the past NOT to do this (support same sex marriage)

Hmmmm

I actually thing they're a good team - and that Biden adds gravitas to the ticket
You just never know what is true do you ?
Democratic sources: Obama aides annoyed with Biden – CNN Political Ticker - CNN.com Blogs

Proving once again that Democrats could screw up a wet dream.

Why don't they just own this, stop their bitching and move on to the next agenda item? Sheesh!

I don't know where this info is from, and how much gossip ragness there is to it, but I saw the interview where Obama gave a clear indication that he was a little pissed at Biden, but ALSO stated firmly that they WERE already planning to announce his support. At most, Biden jumped the gun.

I saw it reported on MSNBC by the Washington post and somewhere else's political correspondent. They were talking in sources. No one would officially make a statement causing conflict in the executive branch. that would be foolish.

This was just a public admonishment.

Still centex you are correct sir....they should STFU and own it if they were gonna announce it and it is out there then the drama doesnt help...

Biden did Obama a huge favor.

Obama's aides should be thrilled.

You can't argue in a political campaign that your position is that you are "evolving." Voters don't like vague statements or wishy-washy candidates. Obama is now clearly way ahead of Romney on this issue. Republicans are increasingly reluctant to discuss gay marriage, as they increasingly realize that they are on the wrong side of this issue - both the wrong side of history and the wrong side of popular opinion.

What's more, the president (finally!) coming out in favor of gay marriage will further help to swing public opinion in this direction, especially among blacks. It is better that it happen now, rather than later in the campaign, as it allows more time for voters to realize the correctness of this position. This is a win-win proposition for Obama and a lose-lose proposition for Romney.

Biden has helped the president a lot.

BTW, I don't think the Romney campaign has reacted well to the president's declaration on gay marriage.

They seem to have been thrown for a loss.

Romney says he objects to gay marriage and civil unions, but that he thinks that laws can be passed to protect visitation rights at hospitals. He says that wills can be drawn up to protect property rights for gay couples. That's not what his Republican base wants to hear. On the other hand, such statements sound absurd to moderates.

That's why I say this is lose-lose for Romney. If anyone should be annoyed, it is Romney's aides, not Obama's.

Are they just now realizing that Biden talks without paying attention to when or where he is. Nothing new.
Get over it!

And a thread was started about this? What did Biden eat as a kid we'll be hearing about?

^ It's sort of a big story

Covered by many reputable sources - in this case CNN

But really by all

So yes Bob

The VP it appears was reprimanded for speaking the truth and/or trumping the Pres

Sorta lame when you think about it

I agree

In the general u pivot to the middle and here he pivots to the dark ages wing of the party

I love the delicious irony

Annoyed/Not annoyed. Whatever.

For the first time an American President has made the declaration on the rights of homos to marry.

Biden and Obama have in one fell swoop, on top of the success of the repeal of DADT, validated the lives of hundreds of thousands of young American kids this week. The kids have been told that it should be okay to marry the person you love.

Who cares what it took. It has stolen the thunder from the Republican'ts, who now appear even more starkly out of touch with the social and economic aspirations of the American people.

^ Obama's aides and prob Obama cares

That's the story

And I agree with paragraphs 2 + 3

I'm sure Obama just rewarded his faithful service by giving him an advance warning to get his family to safety before the President's secret division breaks into his house and drags him to his organ harvesting factory. Obama has some appreciation for a job well done after all.

So that's where Cheney got his heart. :!:

I question whether or not this entire thing was planned and if Biden was simply used as a puppet to test the waters and the reactions of the American public ... to see if they thought it was safe for Obama to endorse it, frankly. This whole thing that "Obama aides are frustrated with Biden" may simply be a ruse.

I don't know.
