And it's republicans that usually start out strong! This has to be great news for President Obama!

Don't they wait until election night to actually count those votes?

I know that's how it is in some states, I wasn't sure if they were all like that.

280,000 more Democratic votes have been counted! That has been country. I don't think it's a stretch to say that a great portion of those Democrats did indeed vote for the Democratic nominee.

yes, I think that's certainly likely that Obama has a lead. Just saying we can't assume everyone voted based on party affiliation.

This is just the beginning wait till Tuesday....A landslide for Obama/Biden.

I just clicked on early voting "wait" in Broward County - 5 hours at the Miramar City Hall. I'm sorry, but that's unacceptable. It was three and four hour waits at other sites. I hope it's because a lot of people are taking their butts to the polls to vote for Obama - but, honestly, can Florida screw up voting or what? Five hours to wait in line for early voting????!!!! XXX

I dont know why people do this with the alternatives offered. I had a friend go vote tonight and she waited 3 hours (with rain showers). They offer absentee voting for everyone. I went to the county election website, clicked on send me a ballot and filled out my info, got it the next day, took about 5 mins to complete it and $1 to send it back in and I was done. That was over a week ago. No lines, no fuss.

No votes have been counted yet.

They're counting registered party affiliation, but there's no reason that a Democrat can't vote for John McCain, just as I voted for Hillary Clinton in the primary but could vote for Anyone in the general election.

You're right on!.......and although no actual vote tallies have been released some polling of those in Florida and Nevada that have already voted show that those polled aren't matching the results of the votes cast according to political affiliation.

I've never once in my life waited for longer than 1 minute to vote.

But I lived in Canada until three years ago, and now that I'm in LA I live in a relatively rich, white area.

Go figure.
Florida needs a Governor who will revamp the entire election process. Early voting and absentee/mail-in ballots are a good start but anything longer than a 1 hour wait should not be acceptable. IMO, In addition to more voting machines, they need a better geography on the number and location of polling locations.

early voting system offered.

90% of people should be voted by now instead of waiting a long line on the election day !!!

That would be a good system if only you were sure that the people that get the ballot in the mail would actually put it in as your vote. But they could just throw it away like I feel certain some did in 2000. You cannot trust anyone in Fla election system to do the right thing.

It's all bogus. No votes have been counted. Senator Obama has no "physical" lead, however is still slightly ahead in some new polls.
