Obama Might be More Stupid Than GWB

I think to call Obama an idiot is ridiculous. When GWB went into Iraq they had no ties to Al Qaeda, none of the terrorists from 911 were from Iraq, and they were seen as famished and manageable. Both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are our allies but I don't believe either has done their fair share to ensure the safety of America by stopping the terrorists and extremist. Fourteen of the 19 terrorists from 9-11 were from Saudi Arabia and According to a recent La times article I read http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-saudi15jul15,0,3132262.story?coll=la-home-center nearly half of the troops attacking the U.S. solders in Iraq are from Saudi Arabia. Pakistan is sheltering a lot of terrorists and not being very cooperative when it comes to letting us know of their locations. Although Obama's plan might be over reaching it a little, he definitely is on the right track. People in this country swear up and down that they feel more safe now that this war has started but various reports have shown that terrorism is on the rise and recruiting in the terrorism organizations have been very successful, George has done totally the opposite of what he intended to do; at least Obama is recognizing there is an elephant and the room and trying to do something about it UNLIKE some people.

The bottom line is that Pakistan is our ally and a country doesn't invade it's ally without universal condemnation.
Musharaf is struggling to control his country despite repeated assasination attempts on his life.
If he were to invite us in, that's one thing (and probably his political suicide); but for now he's trying to cope on his own.
The USA (and our allies) have had a miltary presence in Afghanistan for seven years and still can't find bin Laden or control its' borders; and here Obama is threatening an invasion of Pakistan because they aren't doing a better job than we are?

"He's gone from Jane Fonda to Dr. Strangelove in one week," Romney said of Obama.

Romney continued: "I think Obama is confused as to who our friends and who our enemies are."

This was from Sundays Debate in Iowa.. I think it was funny.

I think it sounded like it was written for him by a Rovian Republican.

Not that using writers is unusual but with Romney's delivery I thought it made him seem vapid and reminded that Republicans are little more than mean attack machines who use demonization codewords like "Jane Fonda" at every opportunity.

Personal demonization of fellow Americans is the best they have to offer.

The international situation is too delicate to just be "on the right track"--there isn't room for "over reaching." This is not the kind of field on which someone can train--this is the Super Bowl. We need someone to who knows the plays and who's played the game before. It's that simple. And what we've seen out of Obama in the past few weeks shows that he is too green to repair the damage that this Administration has done to our foreign policy.

And you think Hilary is really going to have major leverage with countries that don't respect women, her biggest asset internationally is Bill and she knows it; but sadly this isn't the Clinton-Clinton election its the Hilary-Clinton Election. Obama may be a newbie and admittedly untrained in a lot of foreign affairs but he does realize there are things that need to be done to ensure our safety and that we do need to focus more energy on some of our supposed allies who are doing a piss poor job of at the least containing their terrorist. A good president in my mind should at least be capable of listening to their skeptics and experts and know how to plan accordingly. This was one of the major problems with the Bush administration: they never listened to sound reason or planned accordingly.

Most female heads of state don't seem in the past to have any problems with countries that don't respect women - just look at Idira Ghandi and Margaret Thatcher.

Plus Hillary has the advantage of having already met a lot of them and having visited their countries (she's been to 82 countries at the last count)

Many,Many ,Many of the 80 or the Left or the Evil War Machine mind set, spew often that GWB is staging a war against Iran.and Iraq is his platform. If "W" would do this, the world eill be in a Nuke War.

Now WTF does a 2 1/2 year Jr. Senator think this idea of his would do ? Lets just Storm into an Allies Country that has nuke bombs and just rape it's country side to find some wanted criminals. Bush fucked things up w/o having an after plan.BUT We did have the rights afforded to use by the U.N. to go into Iraq.

This is so scary to think that HE might think the WORLD is his, to do with, that it makes GW look like a ruler of the sand-box,not even the whole play ground.

Obama won't be the democrat presidential candidate this time - he's in the race to position himself as a credible candidate in 8 or 12 years time.

But it was a dumb thing to say - but will be forgotten about when he's in the race for real - though maybe some future journalist will dig up the remark then.

I think we've established that Obama isn't "more stupid" -- but in spite of the spirited defense, I can't see how he can be excluded from the category; the idea was stupid, plain and simple.
But the American public has political ADD, and the remark will likely fade out of memory.

I will still listen to Obama because the same people that are saying he shouldn't say these things are the same people who voted to allow Bush to start this war.

When someone comes along and is ahead of their time with new ideas and new ways of doing things people allows attack them until they come around to their position.... once people see they are right.

Uh, I didn't vote for Bush, and I still think Obama was very ignorant to say such a stupid thing. It shows he knows little or nothing about foreign affairs.
