It is not the correct way to do that to take every government employee and freeze their pay forever until they're in wage slavery. Cut actually big stuff like you know... defense.
Completely and utterly obvious what your angle was here. No, this pay increase was not bad when the monumental majority of it went to everyday working people who are Federal employees who spend in our economy. Not bad, move on. New outrage waiting for you somewhere on the net I'm sure.

Federal workers are falling farther behind on pay, study shows (Eric Yoder, Washington Post; October 19, 2012)

^ not sure why the middle class should pay MORE taxes - perhaps if real income was growing maybe - but it isn't
i read where the avg. US HH would pay $2,500 or so in increased annual taxes if nothing was done
that's $200K a month - that would likely just shift from consumption to into the govt.'s pockets
the govt. is not very adept right now with monies collected
that $200K could be 401K money or college fund money for people ........
and i have yet to see you even remotely criticize the current president
as long as when u leave BP doesn't appear in your place
what do they say about "absence"![]()
Thanks for sharing - do u have an opinion here ? Seems u don't follow the standards u apply to others
As for the attachment ......
In case you're entirely in a bubble and don't know what's been happening the last 4+ years -- let me refresh your memory about the sufferings of the American people.
Millions of Americans have lost their jobs, some cannot find anything, people have been losing their homes, life savings, working for minimum wage and many have not had a wage increase or are working for less rather than lose their jobs.
Federal government employees do rather well.
I'm all for cutting defense spending -- there is much cutting that can be done there. I know too many retired military that have 2nd homes, huge RV's, get discounted gas, and shop is segregated grocery stores.
Sound like someone is a little guilty here. LOL
Most veterans don't get anything out of the government except for the pay they received while serving. Many long term military just see the federal government as a never ending source of special deals ... I suspect you lay with your mouth sucking on the teat of free government goodies as this type of veteran.
I'm proud of the guys who served their time, went home and were productive -- the ones who stayed around because they couldn't make it on the outside -- not so much.
Make the specials deals available to all veterans -- not just a select few or cut them all out. They get retirement pay anyway -- why do they need special grocery stores, gas stations, hospitals, etc.

BTW~ You should read the linked article from Washington Post. It includes an alterative view argued by Mitt Romney that you might enjoy.
Wow really... lol.
Grasping just a bit Jack. Face it you despise the military and mostly it is because you were found unable to serve.
no attachement? what do u call the washington post link ? that's what i was referring to as it was what u posted - i did read it - it's what prompted my response as it seemed opposite to your point or so i thought
we're clearly speaking different languages here
in the attached (wash. post), it references that the study about federal pay vs. private is WITHOUT impact of benefits - and when u do include benefits, the result is much different, actually opposite
which is the basis for "give them the raise" no ?
wow
more expert analysis from our crack veteran
pretty nasty shit and uncalled for but u make a habit of that dontcha
I am pretty sure Jack characterizing all veterans is like when Benvlio or Reardon characterize all immigrants ... not to be left alone. Plus I like dealing in reality land and you and jack like "suppose it were true" land.
p.s. an attachment is something uploaded... a link is the proper term you failed to use when working with Opi... cheers
