He may not come out and say it, but it is still evident that he needs the race card to win.

The problem with most of your guys posts is that with the topics that bring up, they can be easily turned around and say that the other candidate is essentially doing the same thing.

No question that Obama is relying on Blacks for their vote. Does that necessarily mean that he is playing the "race card"? I don't. But yes, he does need their votes.

Just the same as Hillary needs the Female Vote (and Gay vote, for that matter) to move ahead. Also, just like she is relying on the Hispanic Vote, to continue voting in Blocks for her, like they've been doing.

Your argument is two-fold. Other than stating the obvious, I'm not sure what point you are trying to make.

The difference is that Obama has repeatedly accused the Clintons of using race in the campaign when just the opposite is true.

Clinton has not accused Obama of being anti-Hispanic or anti-women.

The point is that most blacks will vote just on outward apperances and not the issue. So that race card is what he is relying on.

You sure seem to know alot about why people vote. Your a comedian not a political scientiest, stick with that(lame as it is.)

And you mean to tell me that Feminists aren't doing the same thing? Bypassing character, experience, past voting record, the scandals Hillary and Slick Willie have been involved in ... just to get a Woman elected.

Maybe you didn't see this in the other thread.

At least this woman outright admits what she's doing. It's too bad other people, (and I can pick a whole handful of people out on this Forum that fit in the same category of this particular Woman, but I won't mention names) on here that are dishonest enough that they won't admit it. Doesn't matter though, since most of us realize that is what is going on.

For the record though, after reading some posts, yes there are people on this Forum that are voting for Hillary, whom I believe think in their minds that they are doing the right thing, and Gender isn't coming into play. Then, there is the other category of posters on here who know what they are doing, I and the others know what they are doing, yet they won't admit it ... and again, I won't mention names.

It's Race vs Gender, MusicMan. It's going on in both sides. It's up to those of us who are willing to rise above these prejudices to make a judgment call down the middle to do what's best for the country as opposed to looking out simply to "break the political glass ceiling" this Woman references.

No I don't know why people vote, but I go on what I hear about why blacks are voting for Obama. Hispanics aren't voting for her because of race, so that comment has no merrit.

But I hear all the time that I should have voted for Obama because I am black and he is black, and we need to turn the White House into a Black House.

How many blacks really know what Obama issues are? Not many, I am willing to bet.

And as for me being a comedian, well if I must.

Well, good for you for rising above the stereotype that you should vote for "one of your own". That's the kind of thing that needs to happen in this country, as you are right, I am sure many Blacks, as you say, haven't really looked at Obama critically.

But again, just like many Women and Gays who are turning their heads at Hillary's baggage because they want that Glass Ceiling broken at all costs. And the Latinos aren't being left off the hook either, since they are doing what these other groups are doing and voting in Blocks, as well. That is just as shameful and a downright embarrassment to this country as Blacks voting for one of their own. But good for you for not being pressured into voting for Obama for those reasons, alone. That's how we make real racial/gender progress in this country.

Oh come on, musicman b-flat hasn't risen above anything with his posts on grape kool-aid and fried chicken.

As he did in South Carolina, Obama uses racial language in Mississippi.

“See, I was trying to explain to someone the ’okey-doke.’ Y’all know the okey-doke? It’s when someone’s trying to bamboozle you, when they’re trying to hoodwink you. They are trying to hoodwink you. You can’t say that he’s not ready on day one, unless he’s willing to be your vice president and then he’s ready on day one.”

I am one who is VERY thankful for the posts of musicman, among others. I was finding myself falling for the Obama rhetoric and "fad" as well. Yes, some aspects of his success are acting rather like a fad. I never fell all the way, as I've continued to think of Obama (AND Clinton) in more negative than positive terms, but either are most likely a lot better than the dangerous antigay sellout McCain, who not very long ago was quite independent.

Thank you to those who are keeping me more informed on Obama than the lame media is. Even the liberal/progressive media I also listen to, is giving him a free pass. Most of what I'm hearing against him in the media is Rovian mudslinging, the stuff of which the Swift Boaters are made, and that type of mudslinging is as much smoke and mirrors as is Obama's "platform."

Wow, when did "hoodwink" suppose to be code for "racial language"? You are grasping for straws, but only the delusional would care.

yes that post should be an embarrassment, along with the earlier claim that Obama was engaged in "racial talk" when he used words like okey-doke... bamboozle... hoodwink. Those are not exactly ghetto words.

1. Musicman, I read that article three times. Now I have a question: what are you on? If you see something racial in there, you have to be hallucinating.

2. NickCole, there's not a thing racist about your little snippet, either. As I said in another thread when you tossed that out, the old-time Swiss around here talk that way.

3. Have you all stopped to take a moment to realize that Obama's skin color is an issue? The first noticeably black person to be a serious contender for President, and that's not an issue? His mere presence in contention speaks hope, and not just to blacks, but to all minorities -- and to people overseas, for that matter.

Carrie Budoff Brown noticed a rather off-message echo in Obama's stump speech last week, and writes that Obama added to his stump speech in South Carolina several lines that echoed a speech attributed to Malcolm X.

“They’re trying to bamboozle you,” Obama said for the first time Wednesday in Sumter, S.C., to a predominantly African American crowd while refuting e-mails falsely identifying him as a Muslim. "Don’t let people turn you around because they’re just making stuff up. That’s what they do. They try to bamboozle you, hoodwink you.”

Obama repeated those lines frequently as he traveled around the state.

The lines echo
the best-known version of the Malcolm X speech, which comes from Spike Lee's biopic. It's a stinging address full of blunt racial division, which warns blacks about being “hoodwinked” and “bamboozled” by “the white man.”

"You’ve been had. You’ve been took. You’ve been hoodwinked. Bamboozled. Led astray. Run amok," Malcolm says in the speech.
Robert Gibbs, Obama’s communications director, said he did not know whether Obama was aware that he was echoing Malcolm X.

Spike Lee drew on the Malcolm X speech again in 2000 with his film “Bamboozled,” a satire about the race and the media.

You might want to read it a 4th time then, but I will help you out.

Obama was favored to win in Tuesday's nominating race in Mississippi, a southern state where blacks — who have carried him to wins previously — make up a majority of the Democratic voters.

Does that help you understand that he is relying on those black voters to vote for him.

Hmmm, let's flip the scrip for a minute:

Clinton relied on the white woman vote to win in most states and the Hispanic vote in California and Texas, but nobody has ever pointed that out on JUB. Shocker! The both of them rely on "core supporters" to carry them in their "friendly" states, but the point is AND?

So this thread is POINTLESS. :-({|=

is that the same black vote that carried Obama to that landslide win in Wyoming last Saturday?

The point is Hillary Clinton doesn't appeal to her female voters by bashing Obama as a man but Obama rouses his black voters by using racially inflammatory language against Hillary -- and likewise Hillary's supporters don't use anti-male language to attack Obama but Obama's supporters use racially charged language or words like "bitch" to attack Hillary.

Just words? Or do words have meaning as Obama said they do?

Having won the Hispanic vote doesn't mean she is using it. It jus simply means that they liked her better than Obama and race had nothing to do with it because she is not Hispanic.

No it is not the same black vote, you can't say that about Wyoming. But you can say that about Mississippi.

Tomato, "To-mato" it is the same thing. She is relying on white women to get elected just as much as Obama is relying on blacks.

END OF STORY.

thank you
