Ok, I'm so tired of hearing Obama, his supporters etc, saying that he didn't vote for the war.

guess what people?..

OF COURSE HE DIDN'T VOTE FOR THE WAR....HE HAD NO VOTE!!! He wasn't even a Senator when it was time to vote!

Secondly, how come he wants the most important job in America when he has only been an elected US Senator for 2 years? And basically one year of his first two years as senator has been off campainging. What representation is he really giving Illinois?

Does anyone remember how he even got elected US Senator? Basically by default!! If someone needs refreshing on that topic, I'd be pleased to share the back story on it.

Do I think he's a great guy...sure! I think one day he WILL make a great President, but IMO he needs more experience, finish off his first term as a Senator, while Hillary is President, get reelected again for a second term, while Hillary is in her second term, then run for President and be elected..with my vote as well!

The guy needs just alittle more experience in the national level of politics and forgein affairs (I mean come on..as Chairman of the forgein affairs committe in the Senate he NEVER called together one committee meeting??)

Just my humble thought on Obama.......|

Thanks so much Virgin Mike for enlightening all of us here at CE&P with your revelatory comments. Without you, we would never know that Sen. Obama was not in the Senate when Sen. Clinton voted for war in Iraq in 2002 because we are not as smart and informed as you are.

Please, do give us your background on Sen. Obama's victory over Alan Keyes. We here know nothing about it. I for one am breathlessly awaiting your keen insight and knowledge.

FYI, [EDIT]: Joseph Biden is Chairman of the Foreign Affairs committee, not Sen. Obama.

Thanks for sharing!:D

Well, Syntax70...what crawled up your nostril today? There isn't a need to name call here.

This is a forum and I, like anyone else, can post my thoughts and opinions, just like you. However you don't need to be condescending or rude. Now do you?

I never said ANY ONE in the forum was not as informed and did not imply that I was smarter than anyone else here.

You, I presume in your response, somehow feel threatened. Why?

Also, a simple correction would be nice, not being called a "smartass"...I stand corrected, he serves on the committee and is not the chairman.

Please Syntax70, get some sleep, rest what ever you need to get over yourself and your rudeness.

Hey Mike - I'll take it easy if you will. You post here coming on like gangbusters with a lot of attitude insinuating that supporters of Sen. Obama are uninformed and that you're here to set the record straight. I push back and you call me hotheaded?

And yeah, you are being a smartass! But that's cool - I like smartasses.:D

BTW - people play rough here. Don't take it personal. I don't make it or take it personal.

syntax70...I did not start a thread as a "gangbuster", nor with attitude. I DID NOT insinuate anything. You personally took it as such.

Quote to me where I called you "hotheaded"?? I don't like having words put in my writing, that I did not use. Again...this is an example of you reaching or reading into things now don't you think?

Be honest here, not everyone here or elsewhere knows much about Obama other than he's now a Presidental candidate. I have many friends, family , schoolmates, who simply support him because they like his speeches. Then say things like "well Hillary voted for the war" with really no knowledge.

So YES, there are those who support Obama that are uninformed.

Simply because you are informed, rather than taking it so personally and name call me, move on. Isn't that simple?

And so because "people play rough here" it makes it alright?

I don't find thrill in name calling anyone or being rude, if I disagree with someone I state so, but I never stoop to name calling and being so rude, even if "people play rough" ...It speaks highly of one's character.

I don't take things personally, but I also will let one know when they are being rude when it's not called for.

Mike, you ask what crawled up my nostril. I take that to mean I am hotheaded whether you said it in those words or not. You call me rude, condescending and that I need to get some sleep and get over myself. Then you claim not to call people names.

And yeah your post had tons of attitude - and was itself condescending.

In any event, if you were offended by my calling you a "smartass," I apologize.

Your post was pointless and inaccurate.

"Your post was pointless and inaccurate"

and that is one person's opinion who continually comes back to this post to respond each time I make a comment.

That is the beauty of things, one can agree or disagree...but ones opinions are never "pointless" .

**waiting for syntax70 to visit this "pointless and inaccurate" post again to***

Mike - you will either have to post in favor of Obama or be called a racist, a feminine gay, old, stupid, corrupt or whatever name they can think of. That's the Obama rules.

They say the proof is in the pudding. Thus far, all the studies show those are the blocks ... and I do mean "blocks" of voters that are voting for your candidate. And since I tell it like it is, yes Blacks are doing the same for Obama.

If people don't like to be stereotyped, such as many Gays being classified as Feminine and having Feminine biases, than I would suggest that people not do negative things that stereotype them. I would suggest that people put their prejudices and preferences off to the side, forget about race and gender, ensure they do not come into play in your voting decision at all ... and vote based on all of the wide range of factors including: record, character, experience, honesty, integrity, etc. as opposed to voting because someone has a dick and someone has a vagina ... or voting because someone is White and someone else is Black. What year is this, again?

record, character, experience, honesty, integrity, etc.

These are precisely the qualities Obama lacks.

as opposed to voting because someone has a dick and someone has a vagina ...

Even a casual perusal of the posts in this forum should make it clear that the only people obsessed with gender are the Obama supporters.

My, you do live in a False Reality, don't you?

One can deny, deny, deny ... but it won't change the true reality of the situation. What will happen, will happen this election, I suppose.

Just got a few words, and I'm done with talking about this damned election, and in this damned CE&P forum.

WHO CARES that Obama is black, or that Clinton is a woman? WHO CARES that she's shown support for the gay community, or that he preaches great change? And finally, WHO CARES that she has more experience, while he has more charisma?

Who cares? The American people, and it's because of that that Democracy is in the sad state it's in. People only care about what can benefit them in the long run. I don't give a fuck if Hilary is more likely to give gays rights, if it means that everyone else is denied or abused theirs. I don't care that Barack doesn't show as much support for the black community as people expect, as long as he fixes the health care system. And finally, I don't care about America anymore, you guys can blow yourselves up for all I care, cause I'm sick and tired about listening to you preach change, and expect things to happen. And on that note, I hope I'm never forced to go to your god forsaken country.

Why didn't you guys take a more active role in 2000, or 2004, to prevent the mess the world is in today? Why haven't you tryed to get Bush impeached? There are more then enough people in the states who agree with you. And on unrelated notes, why do you continually abuse and dis-respect each other, and those around you? It's making YOU look like assholes, instead of the people that deserve it.

Just out of curiosity, what country are you from?

Regarding your post, you share the same frustrations that I do, and many people who are willing to vote, without giving preferential treatment to someone because of either race or gender, feel ... as well. It is absolutely ludicrous and downright embarrassing to the United States as a country that these factors even come into play in elections. You would think that being 2008, we would have evolved enough as a society to vote on the issues, character, honesty, trustworthiness, voting record, and experience ... alone. But oooooh no.

Not here in America. Not where we have Women and Gays voting for Clinton because of Gender .... then making desperate attempts to cover up the biases with laughable justifications, given this woman's voting record and scandals her and her husband have been involved in.

Not in America, where we have Blacks overwhelmingly voting for "one of their own".

Not in America, where we have Latinos overwhelmingly voting against a Black Man.

If we truly evolved ourselves as a society, the numbers would be far more evenly spread across the demographics. But the numbers don't lie. They all come in sizeable Blocks. So that only means one thing. Even in 2008, people are still inserting Racial and Gender biases into their voting decisions.

So it is what it is, and let the people who are doing this and pushing their prejudicial agendas continue to take the country down the tubes and make the United States the laughingstock of the World.
