Obama useless without teleprompter

Well, as far as I'm concerned, Obama is nothing less than a modern-day FDR.

Not even close.

Unlike FDR's response to the economic crisis of his day, Obama's has been neither bold nor innovative, and his response to the banking element has been identical to Bush's (FDR's sure wasn't identical to Hoover's), and his leadership has been little more than words.

This, linked below, also rings true and is illustrative of the difference between the unwell but tireless FDR and the healthy but easily overwhelmed Obama.

Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest. ...

Allies of Mr Obama say his weary appearance in the Oval Office with [British Prime Minister] Mr Brown illustrates the strain he is now under, and the president's surprise at the sheer volume of business that crosses his desk. ...

The American source said: "Obama is overwhelmed. There is a zero sum tension between his ability to attend to the economic issues and his ability to be a proactive sculptor of the national security agenda." ...

You obviously missed the point, maybe you should go back to high school and brush up on your reading comprehension skills...

Totally.

These people were left behind in this last election.

They were cut off from main society and it sucks. With Obama's election, they were sent packing.

I guess when I get in my 50's and I see a country elect a man that I don't agree with/don't like personally, then maybe I'd act out like they're acting.

This truly has become.

If you ask the biggest loudmouths worrying about Obama on here, I'm putting the average age in the early 50's. This just isn't their country anymore.

I guess the press honeymoon with Obama is starting to wane.

Negative articles are stating to appear. Obama slighting UK. Obama breaking campaign promises.

Now the press is claiming that the great orator cannot even speak "off the cuff". His every word is prewritten for him. He cannot think. He is just a puppet.

Oh God here we go again. Dude he's been in the office for what a month and half? What cmpaign promises did he have time to break?!? HELO!!

And lets just say for the sake of the argument that every word was prewritten for him (which I doubt), that doesn't make him a puppet. If he doesn't like the prewritten thing he doesn't have to read it. That simple.

That being said I'll only add this; Obama- has been in office a month give or take, give the guy some time to implement the changes and promises he gave during the election and don't jump down his throat cause he's now stuck in the crap hole that the republicans and Bush dug up.

As for the puppet comment, you must have confused Obama with Bush.

First of all, Democratic fingerprints are all over the crap hole along with Republican fingerprints. Pretending otherwise only makes it impossible to honestly assess the situation and come up with solutions. But pretending is one thing Americans are addicted to today, and it's got us into all kinds of trouble.

Secondly, events move very quickly these days and failing to call out Obama for what one believes he's doing wrong is flat out irresponsible. He's pushed through a stimulus bill that is inadequate but carries backbreaking debt. He's continued the Bush response to the banking crisis, which he supported last September; it's the wrong response, won't fix the problem and again will leave trillions in debt. As to broken promises, he's already broken his promises about lobbyists and ethical standards in addition to the sunshine promise about letting us see what's really in legislation and giving us time to debate it before he signs it.

Failing to call out Bush about Iraq, early on, led to a great big mess. The media and Obama's supporters today are doing exactly the same thing the media and Bush supporters did back then. Protecting rather than questioning him, and at the same time ridiculing and trying to silence those of us who have the balls to question, is contributing to another failure.

I'm not speaking to you personally but to everyone who attacks Obama's critics and fails to hold our President's feet to the fire: grow up and stop making excuses before your entire future goes down the crap hole that both Republicans and Democrats, Bush supporters and Obama supporters will be to blame for.

You may be right it isn't our country any more.

We ended the Viet Nam war and liberated gays in the 70s, dealt with AIDS in the 80s and in the 90s worked our asses off to create the longest sustained period of prosperity in our nation's history.

What have you done?

See, I knew that's what it always came down to right from jump street with his loudmouthed, dull witted oppononents in the G.O.P...Calling him a terrorist, A muslim..When you really meant Nigger.

Guess what? America know's it too.

Face fact's pal..You got a NIGGER in the WHITE HOUSE..That nigger, is smarter than you, has more education than you,and read more while sitting on the toilet, than you, or any of the people you met last week have in their whole lives..

You people make me wanna dry heave.

:=D: :=D: :=D:

It's self hatred for most gay republicans. "I can be like them if I vote like them and don't tell them I take dick in the ass."

At least with Dick Cheney's daughter, she has a whole lotta money to lose voting for her civil rights with the Democratic party. But for the modest means gay Republican with no money...

"What difference does it make if he uses a TelePrompter or not?"

It matters to voters and News Anchors because President Obama uses the tele-prompter like no other President has..Presidents in the pasts read off their scripts in front of them. Barack choses to read off the prompter and he does it better than perhaps anyone..He's does it his way and in my opinion he's convincing...

It's just something NEW for all of us to get use to. If he read off a script looking up & down then that would make people more comfortable. The fact that he's looking at 2 monitors and still doing a good job is NEW to all of us...

Americans are complacent and it takes us a while to get use to CHANGE...

People are UPSET that Brack & Michelle have Friday-Date nights out on the town...We're not use to that type of public involvement coming from the First-Family...They're too Damn Sexy, Happy and in-Love....

CHANGE has come folks...Get use to it..

Oh please, I'm going to say the following with as much respect as possible, but that post was crap. While in theory that stands it sinks in the real word. Mostly due the fact that if he had let us debate the stimulus bill and everything else he wouldn't get anything done.

Secondly it's not his fault how the media potrays or choses to potray him.

Thirdly who was the genius that drowe the U.S. into the large debt for eight years??? Hmmm.... Oh I know it was Rush and Bepublicans......

And quite frankly after the Patriot Act which preaty much trampled on pretty much everbody's liberties that happened to be on American soil I don't see how he can do worse, especially after being in office for a month and a half.

I don't say he should have "let us" debate the stimulus bill. (I love that phraseology -- he works for us but you think he has the right to "let us" or not "let us" debate legislation ... he ain't Dictator or King, you know.)

I say he shouldn't have put elements like huge policy-altering education legislation that has nothing to do with stimulating the economy inside the stimulus bill. He should have made that separate legislation and that should have been open to debate.

IMO, if the bill had been divided into more appropriate items of legislation, some of it would not have been approved. ;)

Well maybe that's the way you think huge legislation that changes the federal education policy should be handled. I do not.

If it wouldn't have been approved by the representatives we elected to Congress, then it shouldn't be approved.

I agree with you on this issue. (*8*)

Have you ever given a press conference or spoken in front of an audience of more than 20 people? Ever? How many times?
dont engage the crazy republican troll!!!!! he feeds off the attention

Oh. !oops!

I'm not used to that around here. ;)

Mostly because the base idea behind the thread is often started by some lunatic looking for attention, and yes I mean Republican and Democrats, just that with the Dem's, they more often then not have some kind of reasonable backing, as opposed to all-out ridiculous statements and questionable, if any, references.

I partially agree, but I find that if this is such an "important" matter to some, they really have no reason to be arguing policies and the economy.

So many of you are invested in ridiculing and denigratiang Democrats or Republicans that way; Democrats against Republicans, Republicans against Democrats.

It's especially sickening coming from Obama supporters because Obama was supposedly going to change all that. The line back during the Primaries was that voting for Hillary would continue the rancor from the past 20 years, and voting for Obama would end that, bring in a fresh new era of cooperation and respect. But Obama supporters on this forum are as nasty and mean-spirited and divisive as ever. Not that I'm surprised.

It's absurd to dismiss anyone's argument about policies and the economy simply because they see value in an issue that you don't think important.

And now a few words from the [STRIKE]POTUS[/STRIKE].
BTW he is now to be known as TOTUS. Teleprompter Of The United States.

:rotflmao::rotflmao:

If people would just put more faith into Obama and try to go along with what he says.. we might move into a positive step forward. People sit in their homes and argue with everything he does and says and they just complain.

That is the funniest thing I have ever read. We went along with Bush and trusted him for a while. Look where that got us. No offense to Obama, but if we learned anything from Bush, it's that we shouldn't trust the president too much. Yeah, I'm sure it would be a lot easier for Obama to do whatever he wants if we all just turned into dummies and did whatever he said, but the reality is that alot of people don't agree with him and they don't have to.
