Zeituni Onyango, 56, referred to as "Aunti Zeituni" in Obama's memoir, was instructed to leave the United States by a U.S. immigration judge who denied her asylum request, a person familiar with the matter told the AP late Friday. This person spoke on condition of anonymity because no one was authorized to discuss Onyango's case.

Information about the deportation case was disclosed and confirmed by two separate sources, one of them a federal law enforcment official.

She was ordered deported in 2004. She is still here and we are supporting her as she is living in public housing.

Let hope they deport her soon.

More likely, he hasn't been in touch with her for years and didn't care.

He mentions her in his book, but he tends to use people for his own purposes.

Or he could've tried to find a way to get her to stay. That would've proved how he really views government - as a means to an end to get what he wants.

That is because these socialists are total frauds who don't really believe what they preach but they have no trouble getting the gullible to fall in line behind them. if he expedites citizenship or extends her green card or overturns her deportation.....he's being bigoted and showing favoritism....

I've not seen any evidence that his aunt or brother are drug addicts. They are his family members that he apparently doesn't care enough about, to help. Nobody has suggested that they move in. Unless he wants everybody to move into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

The guy doesn't really know them, nor does he have an emotional connection to them. See, children of immigrant parents are often taken to the mother country to connect with family overseas. If that's not done, the children are unable to make familial connections with the generations that came before them. Obama saw his father once, when he was 10 years old, and didn't seek out his father's relatives until he was an adult. That's way past the time for him to establish emotional rapport with a people and a culture he's never come in contact with.
It's just as likely that Obama didn't know his aunt was here. She has children and other nephews and nieces who managed to get her into America and are responsible for her care.
