Eminem & Dr. Dre to Open the Grammys?

It has been reported that Eminem will perform “I Need A Doctor” alongside Dr. Dre at this year’s Grammy Awards.
With news that Eminem is set to open the show, new rumours have surfaced claiming that he will perform with Dr. Dre at the event as well as one of his 2010 hit singles.
“I Need A Doctor” which is out on iTunes now and already tops the download list features Eminem on the two first verses and sources say it will be great promotion for Dre’s comeback album “Detox”.
An insider said: “Eminem will definitely be performing with Dre on the night, and fans will not be disappointed.
“He will also be performing one of his “Recovery” singles but everyone is talking about the Dre duet saying it could be one of the most memorable Grammy moments of all time if everything goes to plan.”

Mick Jagger to Make First Onstage Grammy Appearance

The Recording Academy is finally getting some satisfaction, with Mick Jagger's first appearance on the Grammy stage.

The Rolling Stones frontman will perform at the Feb. 13 ceremony as part of a tribute to soul great Solomon Burke, who died last year. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer opened for the Rolling Stones several times during his career comeback late in life.

Jagger will perform with soul singer Raphael Saadiq during the 53rd annual Grammy Awards, which will air live on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles (8 p.m. EST).

"We're thrilled, delighted, excited and very much looking forward toMick doing his debut on the Grammy stage," said Neil Portnow, president and CEO of the Recording Academy. "It's extraordinary to many of us that the fact is, this will be the first time; he has never performed on the Grammy stage."

This won't be Jagger's first appearance on a Grammy telecast. In 1986, the Rolling Stones were given a lifetime achievement award byEric Clapton, and they performed on the show by satellite.

"We did a remote from London, and it was at least three o'clock there," said show producer Ken Ehrlich.

"I think they had been celebrating a little time before we went on camera," he said. "It was quite a moment."

Ehrlich has produced the show for 31 years and has always wanted Jagger and the Stones to perform, but it didn't work out until this year.

Ehrlich said it was Jagger's admiration for Burke that brought him to the Grammy stage.

"He's asked me not to go into detail about what he's doing, but I think when you see the performance, it will make a lot sense," said Ehrlich. "I think it was the idea of the performance that was intriguing to him and really brought him here."

Jagger will join a performers list that includes Rihanna, Cee Lo, Gwyneth Paltrow, Eminem, Arcade Fire, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Usher, Lady Gaga, Lady Antebellum and Justin Bieber.

When asked who was left on his list of must-have Grammy performers, Ehrlich, noting the numerous legends who have appeared on the Grammy stage, said: "In all honestly, that's about it."

Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson to Honor Aretha Franklin at Grammys

Aretha Franklin will receive a special tribute from an all-star lineup of female singers, including Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson and Florence & the Machine's Florence Welch, at the Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday (Feb. 13). Esperanza Spalding, a nominee for Best New Artist, has also been tapped to perform at the ceremony alongside students from the Grammy Jazz Ensembles and Grammy Camp.

Aguilera, Hudson, Welch, Martina McBride and Yolanda Adams will join together in a special segment that will features individual and collective performances of Franklin's biggest hits. The honor comes after the legendary soul singer and 18-time Grammy winner underwent surgery in December for an undisclosed illness. Although Franklin had to cancel all of her scheduled concerts through spring 2011, the singer said that her health was "superb" on "The Wendy Williams Show" on Jan. 12.

Jamie Foxx, Jewel, Marc Anthony and John Mayer have also been added as presenters at the awards ceremony, joining previously announced presenters like Dierks Bentley, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and John Legend.

With Welch and Spalding added as performers, 4 out of the 5 Best New Artist nominees are slated to take the Grammy stage: Justin Bieber and Drake are both scheduled to perform as well, although Mumford & Sons have not been included in the lineup. Other confirmed performers for the ceremony, which will take place from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, include Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, Miranda Lambert, Katy Perry, Eminem, Mick Jagger and Barbra Streisand.

Dr. Dre to Perform with Eminem At Grammys

Continuing the annual Grammy Awards tradition of pairing A-list artists for musical collaborations, Dr. Dre will join his protege Eminem onstage at this Sunday's show (CBS, 8 p.m.).

It will mark the rap icon's first live television performance in more than a decade and comes on the heels of a stellar year for Em, who not only has the best-selling album of 2010 with "Recovery," but is also up for 10 awards (he's won a total of 11 Grammys since breaking onto the scene in 1999).

Dre is also up for album of the year, as a producer on "Recovery."

A new Dr. Dre album, "Detox," is expected out in the spring. It will be his first studio album since 1999.

Previously announced performers for music's biggest night include Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, Miranda Lambert, Katy Perry, Barbra Streisand, a duet by Gwyneth Paltrow with Cee Lo Green, as well as a tribute to Aretha Franklin performed by Christina Aguilera, Martina McBride, Jennifer Hudson, Yolanda Adams and Florence Welch.

Bob Dylan to Perform at Grammys with Mumford & Sons, Avett Bros.

The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS) has saved its biggest performance news for last: Today the music industry association announced legendary singer-songwriter Bob Dylan will perform at Sunday night's 53rd annual Grammy Awards in a tribute to acoustic music.

Dylan, a ten-time Grammy winner, will perform as part of a salute to acoustic music most appropriately with British roots-rock band Mumford & Sons and the Avett Brothers, sibling pickers from North Carolina. Mumford & Sons are up for two nominations: Best New Artist and Best Rock Song for "Little Lion Man."

According to the L.A. Times, Mumford & Sons will perform their song "The Cave," followed by the Avett Brothers with "Head Full Of Doubt, Road Full Of Promise," and topped off by Dylan with an original.

Lady Gaga Gives Whitney Houston Grammy Awards Shout-Out

'When I wrote 'Born This Way,' I imagined she was singing it,' Gaga said accepting award for Best Pop Vocal Album.

By Jocelyn Vena (@jocelyn1212)

mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:622198

Out of the egg and onto the stage, Lady Gaga won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album for The Fame Monster. Gaga beat out Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Susan Boyle and John Mayer for the big prize.

Taking the stage in a high ponytail, dominatrix-style leather bustier, knee-high boots and sunglasses, Gaga took the trophy from Selena Gomez and her onetime tourmate, New Kid on the Block Donnie Wahlberg.

"Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart to all my fans, all the monsters, watching," she said, clutching her prize. "Thank you to my father, my mother, my beautiful sister, Natalie, I love you."

After thanking family and friends, as well as her managers and record label team, the singer shared a personal message. "I had this dream when I was really young that I could be whoever I wanted to be ... and no matter what I envisioned for myself, that I would do it, no matter who didn't believe in me," she said. "Thank you so much."

Although most of Gaga's acceptance speech was devoted to the people you would imagine, she also had a thank-you for one unexpected person.

"I need to say thank you tonight to Whitney Houston. I wanted to thank Whitney because when I wrote 'Born This Way,' I imagined she was singing it because I wasn't secure enough in myself to imagine I was a superstar. So Whitney, I imagined you were singing 'Born This Way' when I wrote it. Thank you."

Moments before winning the Best Pop Vocal Album Grammy, Gaga performed "Born This Way," the first single off of her May album of the same name. The pop star also took home the prize for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for "Bad Romance" earlier on Sunday night (February 13).

GAGA won 3 out of the 6 awards she was nominated for. I think she deserved them. Good for her. :D

I can honestly say this is the best Grammy show I have seen in years. I had grown tired of the once novel concept of artist mashups but with the Diva salute to start off the show, the muppets with Cee-Lo (couldv'e done without G. Paltrow though), The Avett Brothers & Mumford & Sons (who were excellent, I must see them live) with Dylan and others it worked well tonight (Dylan now sounds like the lead singer of a death metal band). I think it was a near flawless night in fact. Standouts of the night for me were The divas who did the tribute to Aretha Franklin, Lady Antebellum (and just when I finally got "Need you now" out of my head LOL), Muse (who never ever disappoint live), Eminem & Rhianna, Bruno Mars, Janelle Monae, Mumford & Sons and especially Arcade Fire. Glad they won album of the year because they deserve it, "The Suburbs" is brilliant and what a nice bonus to get a second song at the end from them. While I'm not the great fan of Lady Gaga that a lot of others on JUB are, I thought she was very good tonight and I really liked "Born this way", the next great gay dance anthem? You better believe it. I thought Mick Jagger was amazing saluting Solomon Burke, its astonishing to think that the man is almost 70 years old. And I actually liked that Barbara Streisand had to struggle a bit through "Evergreen", I happen to like when you hear a tinge of age in a singers voice, call me weird. I think I like when a singer can no longer rely on just the power of their voice alone to sing a song, but explore subtle nuances and different mechanics of singing to find different notes that may have once come too easy for them. It's like when a Baseball pitcher can't throw the fastball 95 MPH anymore and has to learn new ways of getting batters out. My father once told me he thought Frank Sinatra became a better singer after he lost his voice. I thought Katy Perry was a bit off tonight, she sounded a little tired to me and I thought showing her wedding video as a background during her performance was a tad self indulgent (yeah yeah I know). What was up with Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony? For a second I thought they were doing a Sonny & Cher bit, I was waiting for the short joke. I'm not 100% sure but I think Bieber got shut out, a good sign actually since it shows that the Grammy's take the music seriously, they should remember that they are not the music travesty that is American Music Awards.

Whoo! Lady Gaga was amazing!

No, no. I totally agree!

LOL! That whole bit was so awkward.

2 noms, 0 wins. I'm conflicted. I agree with you, but he is talented.
where is Kesha ???? ahahahahahaa :D
Um, who?

Rihanna really impressed me with how strong her voice was last night. She can sing! On the flip side, what the fuck was up with, Bob Dylan's voice? Geez he sounded awful!

Poor Christina can't catch a break! She almost fell last night.
