i wonder if he was alive would he still have been nominted AND won.

Im thinking the answer is no. Im gonna get raked for saying this... but here it goes... most of the awards he won for playing the joker were on emotions and sympathy more than anything else. I saw the movie and didnt really think his role was an award winning caliber. I feel bad for the other guys nominated this year because they probably deserved more than they got, save for Robert Downey Jr, I cant stand him as he always seems to act like the world owes him something. I wish Downey Jr. would go find a box full of coke, heroin, or meth. and just fall off the face of the Earth. I know its harsh but I cant stand him.

The Ben Stiller/Joaquin Phoenix thing was the FUNNIEST SHIT so far, and the best thing Ben Stiller has done in years! This is easily the most entertaining Oscars in quite some time.

Now if only some brave comedic actor would take on Christian Bale...

LMAO! I would die. They prolly dont wanna get their asses beat. Clearly Bale is a lunatic. I do wish someone would do it. I bet if Jamie Foxx or Chris Rock was the host they would have went there for sure. Kathy Griffin would have totally went there too. Jackman is cool I guess but I really like a comedic host.

Agree on the Heath Ledger part, I think if the awards were held in any other year with the same nominees, Philip Seymour Hoffman would've absolutely won...

I'm happy for Heath's family.................yeah, hopefully Philip gets another shot I enjoy his acting.................

I do miss one thing that they used to do. They used to announce when someone won an award other movies they were nominated for, the number of nominations and whether they had won or not.

I can't wait until tomorrow when the Christian Right/GOP releases their statement about Dustin Lance Black's speech and all the screen shots of Milk and the gay kisses. It's going to be a riot!

Ben Stiller was absolutely hilarious. Loved it.

I do think Heath would have won. It was a powerful performance that was at times menacing and funny.

I think Heath deserved to win regardless. But I think he wouldnt have been nominated if he hadnt died because the Academy is extremely prejudiced when it comes to sci-fi/action/fantasy/horror movies. The Dark Knight should have received way more nominations than it did.
