The Oscars purport to do something they don't: cherish cinematic arts. If that didn't annoy me, I could enjoy the awards in the same way I do US magazine--briefly before having my teeth cleaned.

I agree--he needs amazing jokes every time he's on stage--and it's not happening---plus I think the audience segments with him talking to celebs in the audience are really awkward and it would be better if he just stayed on stage and told cutting fucking funny jokes.
But love that Patricia Arquette won---movie was so so but she was great---and Grand Budapest is winning lot's of awards---love the film.

I recall that there were rumors that he was Pos because he was so thin and sickly looking at the time....I had thought that was maybe due to him possibly losing weight for the Hedwig part

Saw it and she was terrific... whether she was singing live or lipsynching to her recorded voice it doesn't matter... she can seriously SING! Got a huge emotional reaction from Julie Andrews herself... lol one of my Facebook friends who has also been a JUB presence posted his incredulity at her appearance and wasn't enarmored of the performance. When I noted even Julie really loved it, he said that clearly Julie must have been drunk. I disagreed but laughed out loud because I know his humor and it can be really snarky, in a good way but it bites!
