^^Me too the girls I love at the beginning always get booted off super early (like AJ & Kyle) so I don't want to jinx them either.....in that case GO ISIS!!!! You go....um....girl!

Looks like they're going to be eliminated after a runway challenge of some sort so whichever girl has a ghastly walk will no doubt be sent packing!

I don't think it's fair for one of the girls to be eliminated based on a runway challenge. Runway can be taught but photographing does NOT come naturally to everyone.

Last season for example, Fatima could not walk at all but then she got MUCH better.

^^^ I 100% agree with LB being in the Top 3 this season as well.

I really hope Elina doesn't lose her confidence as the season progresses, because the panel (especially Tyra!!) will notice it immediately and quickly send her ass home for not "believing in yourself" as they have many girls in past cycles. I like Elina a lot I hope she gets it together & makes it to the Final 3!!

I have two picks for dark horse this cycle....
First is McKey. I love her Linda Evangelista look & if she begins to make herself stand out more then she's a shoo-in.

The second is of course Lil' Kimora Shee. Can all of us contributors to this thread agree that she's our fan favorite??? LOL that girl's got spunk & we all love her!

Can't wait for the new episode! (and another horrible My Life as a Covergirl by Anna Nicole)

I'm really starting to like Joslyn! Her walk was definitely the best & I just like her bubbly-ness.

Poor Hannah! It was such a sudden elimination--they were like, Hannah go home then immediately they moved on with the rest of the episode....it was bound to happen anyway...

A great photoshoot & damn Nigel looked especially hot for some reason lol....

Clark definitely brought the fire in her eyes. I'm glad she got voted the best photo, although the judges can sense her....um....snootiness??.....and I think they want her to humble herself more, which I totally agree.

I held my breath for a few seconds when Elina was third to last this episode. I was like, noooooooo it was just ONE okay photo.....don't send her home!!

Isis definitely bowed out very gracefully and I have to give it up for her for making it this far in the competition for a transgender woman.

GREAT episode!! The judges aren't playing this cycle!

I mostly agree with your predictions for top 5. Except for Samantha. Cute, but she looks like a little girl.

I think Sheena might win this. Tyra has crowned every almost every demographic so far: Black, White, Latin, Mixed, Plus-Sized, Blonde, Brunette, blah blah blah. And I think she intentionally rigs each cycle for this purpose. An Asian still hasn't won, and I think Sheena has what Tyra is looking for -- "Big" personality. She won't fade away like Gina.

so this is the first i've checked into this thread, but i've been watching this cycle religiously. and - never thought i'd say this - it's looking pretty damn awesome -

the girls are ALL very modelesque, there's a transexual (or there was one, at least), there's some hoochie ghetto asian, and - thus far - some pretty inspiring photos.

and i actually liked that they brought it back to LA. technically, a show like this belongs in NY (as does project runway - i don't get why all these shows are going to LA).

but ever since tyrant moved the show to LA in cycle 4, it's grown on me, and i like seeing the sunny SoCal scenery during each episode. plus, it's reminds me of some of the better top model cycles (cycle 6, 8 - hell, even cycle 7 had its great moments).

given past precedent, i agree with yeahwhatever - it'll probably be an asian win. nigel and tyra seem to love her, and tyra went out of her way to applaud her for lying and then rescinding the lie when asked about her fake boobs.

i do agree, though, that the fake boobs are a bit of a dealbreaker - i don't think CG wants little girls to start thinking about getting some implants to go with their outlast double lip shine lip balm.

so as much as i think an asian should win this show eventually (because practically every other racial demographic and body sub-demographic has won), i wouldn't mind it if someone really high fashion won - like mckey, elina, or lauren brie.

so hopefully tyra will mix it up, surprise us with a fairly non-agenda-driven win by crowning a real "high fashion" model.

by the way, is anyone else pissed that none of the spoilers have lauren brie staying on to amsterdam?

sure, she's a little plain looking in person - and very dull and sort of annoying.

but by god - she is high fashion editorial campaign incarnate. her photos make C9 jenah's photos look commercial.

i mean - that hot air balloon one? that could be totally be running ad for some big fashion house.

ok - can't wait to read all your boyz' comments throughout the season.

i really do like this one - definitely feels like home again. hopefully the winner tyrant chooses won't disappoint.

and given that there aren't any suckleishas or anna-nicole-lookalikes in this cycle, i'm thinking the winner will be good no matter what - or at least a huge improvement over the past few cycles

(ps: yeah - whitney on that bike? seriously. not flattering).

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Top Model but Tyra goes a little overboard with the whole representing all demographics thing.

There are models in the competition that have waaaay more potential than Sheena.

Besides, in the fashion industry it will be hard for her to book jobs because modeling is sadly dominated by the white population with little room for minorities, especially Asians. And on top of that, Sheena is not so high fashion.

well, that's exactly why tyra picks these girls as winners. she picks girls that aren't necessarily going to be able to achieve success on their own - ie, plus-sized/full-figured women (whitney), latina drag queen-esque women (jaslene), 5'5 black bitches (eva), eccentric/mixed chicks (naima), and, worst of all, blah tzone alums who don't deserve to be models (suckleisha) etc etc.

these girls could never really "make it" in the fashion world - but ANTM makes it happen for them.

or so preaches the gospel of tyrant banks.

and, of course, tyra continues to delude herself that, by doing this, she's pioneering some crusade towards "redefining" the fashion world's standards of beauty.

i don't mind sheena, and compared to saleisha and whitney, a sheena-win would be an upgrade. sheena's got a fun personality, and it would be nice to see an asian represent CG.

but, i do hope tyra surprises us this cycle. i said that last cycle (hoping anya would win), but i'm really hoping it happens this cycle.

as much as i like sheena, there are too many modelesque girls this time around (elina, mckey, lauren brie, sam, marjorie, clark...) for them to "waste" it on a token-pick -

imo, anyone of them could be working models as is.

it's too bad that they couldn't find a really high fashion asian chick (maybe like c6's gina, without gina's STANKASS, pukeass personality...)

actually, if they want to crown an asian winner, they should give C2 APRIL a call and invite her back. she's a TOTALLY high fashion asian, especially when she had those bangs.

i'd totally go STR8 for that girl

so yeah - compared to C2's april, sheena's pretty blah.

in a way, it seems like tyra sets the agenda FIRST (ie: this is a plus-sized cycle, this is a latina cycle, this is an asian cycle, etc...), then she ends up with whatever of that race/body-size that they happen to scrape up in casting.

for instance: there are so many more beautiful/model-y "fullfigured" chicks than whitney, but i just think that whitney lucked out and happened to audition for the cycle that tyra pre-determined to be the plus-sized cycle. whitney was just the best full figured girl they found during the C10 casting, and by default, she won the competition.

same thing will apply if sheena ends up winning.

anyway, only time will tell how tyra decides to take this cycle -
if the spoilers are right and it's between mckey and sheena, i'm sort of hoping mckey takes it.
but i'll be happy either way.

which is why i think this cycle is far improved - i'd be cool with any of the remaining girls taking the title (even that bitch clark!)

I'm not saying anything against Sheena because I love the girl, however, I don't think a true Top Model will be an exotic go-go dancer that lies about having fake tits and does hoochie poses in all of her shoots.

i hope you're right, man. we need an edgy winner for once.

Plus I noticed that Paulina and Nigel don't seem to like Lil Kimora Shee all that much. Tell tell sign of who's the girl that will win is whomever Nigel is fawning over.

well, nigel has been going on and on about how much he likes sheena's photos - and even during the photoshoot in the pool, he gave her more compliments than i thought she deserved.

so that was an early red flag.

plus, wtf was up with tyra going out of her way to applaud sheena for getting fake tits, lying about it, then taking back the lie?

just seems a little too suspicious.

so - i don't know. maybe i'm just reading too much into it, as usual.

if the spoilers are right, between mckey and samantha, i like mckey for sure. at the same time, i wonder if tyra would actually pick mckey, given that mckey is this tomboy, boxer chick.

remember the last time a tomboy won antm? it was called cycle 1, and tyra has most certainly scratched any trace of that cycle and adrienne out of her life.

so tyra's history with tomboys-types with adrienne casts some doubt on a mckey win.

but i think mckey's too perfect a candidate to let up -

she's FREAKIN tall, they've cut to other girls (clark and lauren brie) talking about how she has a covergirl face, she's 19 (a good, young age - to my knowledge, all the past winners have been either 19-21 when they won, except for yoanna), she's been middle-of-the-pack so far - dani, caridee, nicole, whitney were all "middle of the pack" during callouts in the earlier photoshoots.

so it's looking good for her.

but then again, maybe this will be the "pixie/mia-farrow" short-hair winner cycle. you know how in C5 she went made a big deal about wanting cassandra to have short, "mia farrow" hair? and in every cycle, she gives at least one chick short-hair, which always gets these girls crying.

maybe this cycle, she'll crown a short-hair transformation chick (samantha), just to really STICK IT to the all the chicks that cried rivers when she told them she was giving them short hair (EG: that C2 chick whose name i forget, C5 cassandra, C7 jaeda - god jaeda was so fucking annoying)

of course, samantha has an awful walk - terrible. but, so did caridee and she won her cycle anyway.

so, yeah - if it comes down to sam and mckey, it'll be a tossup and will make for an exciting finale.

ok i gotta stop thinking about this...

I'm actually really proud of Sam.

She came into the competition as this blonde so cal girl that Tyra reprimanded at casting for not knowing about the fashion industry.

Then she goes and surprises everyone by taking kick-ass photos.

Besides the runway walk this girl is solid.

Although in Sam's defense, that designer went WAAAY overboard. I mean he hired ANTM girls to do his show. He must not have THAT much of a reputation to hold up.

I doubt that little flashing incident will impact his career.
