Official Heroes volume 4: Fugitives thread

SPOILER!!!!!

Daphne is not dead, but Matt certainly thinks she is. From what I know, she's being held in the same building as Tracy.
'

Tonight's episode was pretty good...And it certainly looks like we're going to see Nathan get on the wrong side of Danko/The Hunter pretty quickly...

If it keeps going at this pace, it's going to easily be the season to beat in terms of the best one.

You really think this is good?! It's awful! And really boring. I was waiting for it to end the whole time. Last week I only watched 30 minutes and told myself i would sit through the whole thing this week. If it comes to the point I have to force myself to watch a show i loved than it's over. There is nothing original about this or exciting. They could all die and I wouldn't care. I'm really angry at how shitty this show got. This isn't as bad as the second season though. That was the worst but I chalked it up to the writers strike. But there is no excuse for this. I hate when this happens to a good show. They obviously ran out of ideas.

Okay I'm lost I didnt watch last weeks episode. I thought Sylar was dead . I was lost as fuck tonight whats going on.

Tonight was good. I disagree with them running out of ideas, the fact that they are on the run is pretty cool.

Sylar now has a protege, that is amazing that there is going to be another villain running around.

I thought it was a good episode...not too thrilled about Kid Sylar...its so obvious he's going to be Sylar's brother or something

Daphne better not be dead..

still don't care for Nathan's seasonal heel turn...its just so much more random than all the other times

and I hope to god that "Rebel" is Micah...would love to them take the rebellious boy genius route with him....and have Monica/Lady Taskmaster as his bodyguard.......I just want to see her 619 more people :p

I don't think are running out of ideas, the problem is the show's lacking the pull it had with season one. And I think they are taking some of their stories from the Marvel Comics, one example is the Civil War arc, Nathan feels like Tony trying to get fugitive heroes to register...I hope they're not going down that path.

Now I would like this see this, hated how they scrubbed out Micah and Monica. I even hated it when they killed of D.L.

Haven't we seen this in the x-men movies? How is this original?

Who said it was original? Using a plot something else has already used does not make it bad.

They're borrowing by using ideas already used in other successful things to make the show more interesting which is working if the show is still popular.

Tim Kring can't please everyone, some fans are going to enjoy this season, some won't.

I'm not really enjoying Heroes this year. I think my biggest problem with the show is that I just don't care about the characters anymore. :(

While I was watching yesterday's episode 2 things(there were many more) I couldn't help but ask myself was "Does this show seriously expect me to care if Daphne dies? or how Matt will feel?" because I don't believe their relationship for a second, thanks to shitty character development( which every character suffers from on this show) and a relationship that was poorly executed. I miss intricate story development and the wonderful characterization that I saw in season one.

I just don't buy the "story" this show is trying to sell me anymore, There's just been too much damage done to the show's foundation and IMHO I really don't think it can be fixed.

I don't like Nathan...

Seriously the actor is hot and all, but what is his motivation to capturing people with powers? Does he not think he will get exposed and is that the reason he tried to help Claire & Peter (family)?

If its just to forward his political reasons again then blah - I think thats rather lame and I'm not buying him as a well written character (Nathan in particular because what everyone else is doing is because of his actions & heading the witch-hunt)

I don't remember what was said between he & the president at the end of Vol. 3 exactly, but yeah...boo Nathan

~Can someone help refresh on what his purpose is? Do we not know exactly or is it just for political advancement again?~

After discovering his parents injected him with the formula at a young age, Nathan turned against his kind and is now working with The President to capture anyone with abilities.

Not much but all I can find at the moment. :)

I think it's more along the lines of trying to protect the general public from people with powers who may be dangerous whether they can't control them or they use them for criminal purposes. This was his plan with Arthur and Pinehurst when they were trying to make super soldiers using the formula. He turned to the government directly because both Primatech and Pinehurst blew up and he needed manpower to hunt people with powers.

He's kind of deranged. I think it has a lot to do with Maury's messing with him after he was shot, and the fact that it was Peter who shot him, as well as Peter exploding in the first season and that psychological stuff he dealt with after.

There is a logic to what he's doing, though. It would be dangerous to leave them all to their own devices, and there's no Exavier/X-men type safe haven for them to learn to control their powers and use them constructively. Then again, if even Angela doesn't completely condone what's going on, it has to be pretty bad.

^^Very true, and all that puts it more into perspective. But I mean, whats to stop Nathan from deciding to randomly pick up/drop people from the sky all the time?

I'd like to see them take him somewhere with the "loopy/deranged" plot - with all he's been through it could make for an interesting story

I'm really disappointed with the show....

I'm sooooo sick of sylar right now... and the "new sylar" coming around... is already boring me too

I dunno what happened.. it was one of my favorite show ever... i was Ok with season 2 when everybody disliked it...

Season 3 vol 3 was cool too ..

but this volume... seems off for me

My only question is how can they introduce a villain who isn't stoppable?

A villain needs to be something like Sylar: able to take on multiple opponents at once and to possibly be able to recover from serious damage that Heroes can cause him or her.

Sylar seems to be the perfect kind of villain. I'm not saying he can't be replaced but they'd have to introduce some tough bad ass otherwise he'd be easily killed via freezing, burn, or what have you.

I agree. And they had a character with that potential (the Haitian's brother)

Impenetrable skin rules out most damage other than telepathy, possibly phasing, and the Haitian himself.

But they kinda did away with his character in one episode...

So----Mother P spent last season destroying the institution and fighting against her husband, but is now siding with one of her sons to round up all the people with abilities....including her OTHER son.#-o

HRG is once again "pretending" to side with the bad guys to help the good guys......how often are people going to fall for this? #-o

To make Peter's character weaker and less omnipotent, his powers SUDDENLY change without explanation. Now he has to touch the person, PLUS he can have only ONE power at a time....#-o

I know followers of this show don't like complainers on this thread; but come ON guys!........this show had SO much potential when it first started. Now, storylines and characters change weekly.

I don't think it's whining that people don't like, it's the explanation-less whining.

When people express why they don't like the show as much anymore, if they do at all, it's like "Okay I can see why you don't like it, but I still do."

Also, it is VERY tiring that we keep seeing the same thing from HRG, honestly I wish he would just stay the next time he dies, if that happens. As well as Nathan, he is too far gone. Make him go completely mad and end it in some battle where he dies with government operatives to our beloved heroes.

Angela needs to go, I am tired of us being tugged around wondering what side she is really on. Someone will be there to pick up Primatech when she dies.

With Angela, I figured she was all "so you don't want/need my help anymore because you have the Government - well screw you" to Nathan. Like she turned her back on him, not because what he's doing is wrong but because he didn't go to her instead, LoL

Anyone else get that feeling?

But I do like that they changed Peter's powers and made them less uber - hopfully they'll do the same to Hiro when he gets his back (though isn't it obvious that Ando will just super-charge Peter in the nick of time & he'll absorb everyone's powers again?)

And we were treated to yet another lovely edition of the "Don't you see I'm doing this for you/I don't need you to protect me" HRG/Claire conversation...every Season its the same thing with the two of them
