QUESTION!

Does anyone else hear the similar musical notes in Right By My Side & In For The Kill by La Roux/Skrillex Remix? The similarity kicks in at the 15 second mark in the Nicki/Chris song. I bang hard with both songs but & had a moment when I heard Nicki's song last week.

the roman holiday song is actually better from her performance on tv than it is on the cd most of the ad libs are gone from album version!

There are still good american bands that produce actually self written good music. Just have to look for them, they just dont get the spot light like they deserve, which is a shame.

I sometimes like Nicki's overplayed stuff on the radio. They can be catchy. Every cd is leaked early, so I'm not surprised there.

I distinctly recall "Hey, Micky, you're so fine" and "My girl wants to party all the time" coming from the '80s. And the Spice Girls and Cotton-Eye Joe from the '90s. We act as if horrible music is some new phenomenon created by the current generation. Horrible music has been around forever and will continue to thrive as long as there's a market for it. Adele was one of the biggest sellers of this year and last year. If tastes were so bad, she'd be in the 99-cent bargain bin right now.

'Va Va Voom' has completely taken over my fucking life!!! While I love Starships, I don't really understand why Nicki decided to release it over Va Va Voom which was originally the first single, now it's a bonus track, despite being fucking AMAZING.

If you're that pissed that something related to Nicki got merged with the existing Nicki thread, you have issues that only a doctor can help you with.

After listening to parts of the album(Va Va Voom, Roman Holiday, Come On A Cone, snippets[what I could stand] of Starships, Pound The Alarm, Whip It, Automatic, and Masquerade), I see that she really is a pop star chasing trends(which is excruciatingly evident on Pound The Alarm and Masquerade, which both sound like 1/3 of the songs I heard on spring break in Florida - they almost sound like the same song in a different key). Only Roman Holiday and Come On A Cone interest me.

I don't know why I find that so shocking, but whatever.
 
Okay, I changed my opinion about the album, I LOVE IT I guess it had to grow on me plus the leaked album I downloaded didn't have Masquerade & Va Va Voom on it (which I had to manually listen to on Youtube), two tracks I loved instantly.

Can't wait to buy the deluxe version on iTunes.

I guess it's not a bad thing Nicki's doing more pop, saw her on American Idol and thought she sounded good live as well. She's still different, definitely not a sound Katy Perry or Lady Gaga could emulate.
 
I have to amend my earlier post and state that I like two more of her songs - I Am Your Leader and Champion. I'd like them MORE if they didn't have Young Jeezy and Rick Ross though.

This is pretty much me too.

I agree about Pink Friday being the better album, the balance between hip-hop and pop was more cohesive. Roman Reloaded doesn't seem to have any, the rap songs feel tacked on, not all that memorable, and are overshadowed by all the gloss. My faves: "I am Your Leader," "Champion," "Right by My Side," "Automatic," "Young Forever," "Va Va Voom," and "Masquerade."

(Total word on "Starships" and "Pound the Alarm" being the same damn song. o_O)
