Oh Dear, people are so rude...

Mira Chato, yo no se que es tan ofensivo de este hilo como para merecer estos ataques de tu parte.

But you´re wrong, In real life I´m very rude with the service people and such. So I´m rude on and OFF the internet.
if that is the attitude you have towards other people then you should expect the same treatment yourself.

sounds to me as if you have a rather elitist attitude towards people.

just because you may have a better education and advanced degrees then them does not mean you should not treat them with the less respect then you would expect of them.

one of the best ways to get fine treatment in a place where you go and the service people are the same ones all the time, is to find out what their first name is/are and address them as such and also to let them know what your name is. you would be amazed at how that affects the service you receive and how you will be treated.;)

i even carry this into the doctor's offices - all the nurses i address by their first names and i have them address me by my first name, never with the sir name of Mr. i detest being called Mr.

Lugus,

once again I am forced to state the obvious

Respect does not equal subservience.

Manners does not equal familiarity

Your behavior demonstrates not only your education (or lack thereof), but also your humanity (or lack thereof).

Oh no, I treat others (even our employees) with Mr, or Mrs., and I expect to be treated as such. When someone dares to address me by ¨Hey you¨I let them know I´m not pleased with it.

And no, Im not rude. I just let people know when Im displeased and such.

Btw, I also not rude on the internet forums and such (I have never called anyone ¨puta¨, the N word, or anything, which is a common occurence). I have gotten into heated debates and even got banned from a forum (moderated by one the posters who was throwing racist epiteths ).

Anyway, my original point was why people seem to lose restraint in the internet??? and gdsx gave a great response.

i agree with you about people addressing one as Hey you. i get annoyed with it when receive a pm addressed to me that way even though i know the person is kidding.:grrr: although i realize that with the younger members this is a freindly greeting and i accept it as such.;)

maybe the reason you have to let people know you are displeased with them is due to the manner in which you have come across to them originally - think about that one, especially in terms of how one constructs a thread sometimes.:p

as for gsdx's comment about the internet, i totally agree with you that his answer was/is superb.

pax:wave:

Read this book about being rude...

My Kindergartens love it. ;)

This one is good, too:

My kiddo loves it. (She's in kindergarten, too)

I know this thread is a repeat, but I missed last one.

On the commentary sections of youtube, perezhilton, etc., people are incredibly rude. And if you let yourself fall into the discissions, one becomes rude too :?

Why is that? Is it becuase of the anonymity of just wrinting something???

I ber that most of those people are not that rude in real life.

The internet is a rude medium and I don't think it's going to change anytime soon ;)

So what he fuck makes you think that you have any right to be rude to service people? Did your parents actually raise you to be a pretentious and unpleasant little prick or is this your idea of noblesse oblige?

If people are rude online, it might be because they detect in you an extremely unpleasant spoiled little boy who doesn't deserve the courtesy of a polite reply.

And that's not being rude, just being blunt.

Who said I was??, its just that in my country costumer service and such is highly regarded. Also you just can´t become friends with your employees (like our maids), otherwise they forget what their place is.

Your location is no excuse. Elitist assholes all over the world behave like that.
