If you'd made it out of fish, you'd be stewed to the gills, right?

Did you put rutabagas in it? I like rutabagas.
Did you have good crusty bread for sopping, too?

Oh yes. DEFinitely a big ol' chopped up rutabaga.

Just seasoned some flower with salt and pepper, tossed the meat in it; tossed that into some olive oil in a frying pan; cut into large pieces some russet potatos (left the skin on), some yellow onion, carrots, and the the large rutabaga. Tossed it all together into a roasting pan with more salt and pepper to taste, poured in some water to cover and into the oven for about two hours @ 450 degrees .

VOILA! Stew.

Very simple, very tasty. Makes it's own gravy and everything... didn't even need to make a roux or use corn starch to thicken it.

The bread wasn't a crusty as it could be, but it was good ol' plain white unsliced from a bakery bread. Alas, I'd used up the 100% whole white I'd bought as well over the last couple of days. Ariel doesn't like just whole wheat.

I often get multigrain but that stuff is pricey and our budget has been horrifically tight for a number of months now.
That sounds delish! Still waiting for pics.

But tell us your secret: what kind of flower was it? :p

BLECH.......beef stew? BLECH....

I made braised short ribs with polenta and brussels sprouts...NOW THATS YUMMY...

Great... dementia is starting to set in. :P

I dunno... it was all ground up, and white... maybe lilies then?

It must've been delicious and beautiful, then!

Wow that looks good.

You like yours chunky, and meaty, and beefy....

*fans self*

Is it hot in here? ;)
