Is it just me or do the guys fucking in all the banner ads here really go at it rather roughly? Is that the norm for gay guys? I've had a few rough and rugged moments with my guys, but nothing ever approaching the level I see here. I'm much more gentle and affectionate. Am I weird? *wave*
 
No, you're not weird. Porn goes for "rough drama" to feed the audience's fantasy. I love to watch American Horror Story on TV. It's creepy for great entertainment. But I would never ever want to be involved or get near a situation like that in real life. :eek:

I prefer the "slow and steady wins the race" approach.
 
But in the ads, these poor guys are really taking it hard, especially the cute kid who does the DP. OUCH! It looks so painful! Do some goys really like taking a pounding like that? Is that what is meant by a "power bottom"?
 
It's a visual (and, to a lesser extent, aural) medium. You can't feel the fucking in porn - you can only see it. A hardcore pounding is a more visual experience than a sensual encounter.

And that said, yes, some guys actually prefer an extremely hardcore pounding. :)

Probably a consumer thing? A lot of people complaining how "fake" or "boring" porn are these days. So they probably up the standard by doing all the kinky / rough stuff.
