Oh this can't be good...

One last update: he left today, and we went out for breakfast before he went on his way. Was a nice way to say goodbye, even if the situation still sucks. Summed it up nicely in a conversation with a good friend that's been there for me throughout it: What's done is done. Just got to move on and know that if it was meant to be we'll find our way back to each other eventually.

But I have to agree, if you two are meant to be, you'll know it.

And if not, how wonderful that you each have a good friend as a result of your time together.

This is true. Honestly, not all that much has changed now that he's in Minnesota. We still text every day (albeit, much more casually) and we still share how things are going. The expectations are different, but us still talking has made it all easier.
