Rule one of remakes, be it movies or music: "If the public bought it once, they'll probably buy it again." Thus, everything that's successful once gets remade.

Yes, and what a shame. Once in a while the remake is better, but only once in a while.

^^ That is the most redundant production in all of Hollywood. #-o

NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!They wanna remake the The Thing!!The 1981 John Carpenter version was a box office bomb but, became a cult classic in a short time after its release...some of the best special effects for its time before all this CGI...

But I thought that the 1981 version was already remake of the 1951 film 'The Thing from Another World'?

The 1981 movie had very little resemblance to the 1951 movie other than the words "The Thing" in the title. Carpenter's movie technically was a reimaging and not a remake. The story's told in both movies are very different. Carpenter's was by far the better movie.

Yes.Last House on the left is Wes Cravens 1st film.kinda disturbing movie

Because they're douchebags thats why. Horror movie remakes always suck. Though, Texas Chainsaw Massacre was pretty scary...

Carpenter's "Thing" may have been the superior movie, but it didn't have James Arness in it.

I am sorry. Who is that?

You're probably too young. He starred in 'Gunsmoke' on television from 1955 to 1975. His movie debut (unrecognisable) was as the alien in the original movie 'The Thing'. He's Peter Grave's brother.

Here he is as Marshal Matt Dillon on Gunsmoke:
