I've never understood how anyone could eat cat or dog meat anyway. Same as I can't fathom how anyone could willingly eat goat.

Not the eating cats and dogs part. THAT I think is perfectly normal.

What is sick is that we make distinctions like "It's okay to kill and eat a pig/cow/chicken/..." but "Eating dogs, horses and rabbits is inhumane and cruel and should be punished".

Some people claim them to be juicy. Some eat them as a part of their strange delicacy feast ritual.

This non-domestic animal eating habit is practiced a lot more than you expect.

I think we should only eat animals that had a good life, were killed in the least painful way and won't become extinct if we eat them.

I've seen horrible documentaries about dogs and cats being used for food. Because it was illegal in those countries (mainly Asian countries in the show I saw) they couldn't farm them properly and they lived in little cages in the poor parts of the city where the cops wouldn't go. They would pick up the dogs by the tail and smash their heads in with hammers and make the other ones watch. The people thought that scaring them made them produce a chemical that when consumed would make you perform better in bed. And the cats were boiled to death.

It is so horrible I can't stand animals being abused. It bothers me more than it would if it were a human.

I am a carnivore. I have ingested many strange things in my global experiences. These things were often indigenous to the population I was visiting.

Not to have done so would have been rude and uncivilized. Just as bad as mocking the traditions and mores of that place and time.

I do draw the line at vegemite and limburger. Curds and whey is close there. Bottom line is I think everyone should get off their High Horses and accept that different folks do different things.....thus making us different...not better, not worse, just different.
