So should the number of posts for the nice little title under your name now be changed?

It is not so that we intentionally miss such times anymore, and if we slighted you, we are sorry. But the last six weeks have been interesting times here.

Neh, most people don't post that much because some in the Naughty bits section only go there to rub one out :D
 
I think a lot of people were bored with the threads because there were so many Jubbers who hit their fist thousand at the same time.

I, for one, enjoy reading and responding to those threads. Hitting those thousands of posts milestones feels like a sense of accomplishment. I do like to recognize them, as a member of this online community, even when I don't know the Jubber so well. I may not have communicated in threads with them (especially if they frequent the forums I don't check out regularly), but they are a part of the overall JUB community. We wouldn't be in the top internet sites without the contributions and participation of our JUB community. Besides, it gives me the opportunity to let the Jubbers know that they rock this world for all of us! :D

Actually, I was very happy when I hit 1000 so I could customize my title.

There are many spammers, and many non-spammers, as well as people that post regularly every day (like me), and people that don't post at all on JUB.

Personally, I don't think the post count means much, other than the general chattiness of the person. You can also notice that the bottom of the forums is chock full of new posts every minute, that's where most of the posting comes from.

For many, it's an accomplishment and say much. For some, it's an ambition to hit those milestones as often and as quickly as they can and, as a result, rarely say anything at all.

I can't remember who, but somebody here has this quote in their signature:

"A wise man speaks because he has something to say; a fool because he has to say something."

Maybe not the case online, but I think it's a little paradoxical.
 
I didn't notice that I had reached 1000 posts until I received a congratulatory PM. I wasn't exactly ecstatic but it's a nice feeling of achievement. A feeling that you have contributed 1000 times to this fantastic community. And hell, if that means nothing, at least you can customise your title and have an animated avatar!
