Old JUB vs New JUB

i've been a lurker at lmao/jub since 2002 and i became an official member since 2003.

i liked it then and i like it know... 'nuff said

As a creature of routine, change does take my by surprise when it happens.

Not that I am adverse to change.


All the changes around here have seemed to be for the better, and as long as that trend continues I have nothing to complain about.

But should something drastic occur, like say making everything a pay site....

Then I shall bitch louder then a 400 pound woman trying to squeeze into a size 5 dress from K-Mart's bargin bin.

loved your answer. and so agree. at first all the rude comments would bug me, but now i enjoy them. i find it entertaining when someone responds to a thread with hate or rude comments. one other thing i hate is the "boys club". i joined that thinking i would see some good porn, but it is all old shit and just lame. too may videoblogs to make that mistake again.

I have been on for many years, but I too suffered what we call a cosmetic surgical procedure. I had to leave to boards for awhile based on a jealous ex and a posting looking for help that he found out about...blah, blah. blah.

I think that as this site has had people coming and going, it is bound to change. It is going to change based on the people that are here and what Seth's competition is going to be in the marketplace. There is no where else I would come for the boards. It is not always the friendliest place, but that is based on the personalities that post. And if I am not satisfied with a response, I take the high road and walk away from the post and if worse comes to worse from the site for a bit.

I love the freedom, as a gay man, to meet and talk with other gay men in a non threatening, overt way. I have gotten several PMs from people that I would consider friends at this stage of the game. It has changed, but as an older member on here (as in age) I think that it is the way that our society has changed too. The up and coming (oh, I came so close to the cliche spelling) generation are different that we are, or were at their age.

JUB is still a good place to be, and I know that I want to be around for awhile longer. Maybe it is in the middle of growing pains. All I can say is I thank JB and Seth for being there when I was a gay man struggling with my issues. Nothing profound, just a place for me to land. Thank you.
 
I think members make the board -- and I miss some of the guys who are no longer posting.

I wish some things were different. For example, I can't see the whole screen anymore. I have to scroll left to right to read posts.

sure, there has been a lot of changes...seems like the crowd, while larger is also peopled with more of the younger set. ok, even though i miss the hell out of a lot of those who have 'passed' on, its still vibrant.

i joined for the entertainment factor and although it is substantially different, it is still entertaining. there are few things in life that haven't changed (look at tv today) but different doesn't mean worse. you still have a percentage of assholes/ dimbulbs/ et cetera, but the spirit is still there. HEY, if you don't like it pull up your pants and go home, or, move past that post/ thread/ whatever. JUB is kinda like the government, its not everything exactly the way I want it but it is what I let it be.

O.K. thats my opinion , and with almost 2,000 posts i hope its' worth something..| :p *|* (!) :cool: :eek: ..|

I've only been on a few months, but JUB has been a lifesaver for me. Basically what Christopherb36 said: I like the open environment of just gay guys (well, the occasional sprinkling of women and 'str8' guys in denial).

I've learned about sexuality, personalities, how different gay guys can be from each other, how to come out to my family & friends.

I just wish this were here 25 years ago when I was in my teens.

Young gay men don't realize how easy they have it nowadays, due to places like JUB. Long live JUB!
 
Since August 2004.... it hasn't changed THAT much.

I do miss the days when pics could be posted right in the message.... man, there were some good threads in the jocks and fratboys category. But alas, all of the regulatory crap caught up to JUB as well. Kind of forced me into the coming out forum instead though. But I do miss the great porn that used to be on here and so easily accessible.
 
My only whine, and I know it's temporary as these things come and go, is that the posts here haven't made me really laugh out loud for quite some time. I look forward to the day when some droll silliness returns.
 
I originally came for the porn but soon fell in love with the forums. The games were great for a while ..... I was determined to get to the top of Space Invaders .... the pretty little picture champion title looked good under my name ... but then they had to go and update the site again and I lost the title when they wiped the slate clean! I think I had to play that winning game for over 3 hours to get to the top. That now peeves me so I won't go back into the games for it all to be taken away from me again. I don't like the "Look at moi, look at moi" in your face front page pictures either ... it makes it look too much like other sites that are less scrupulous and gives a wrong impression to first timers. This is a quality site with lots of integrity. I think it is just wearing a little too much rouge at the moment.

well ive only been here for less than 2 weeks and i like it how it is! so im happy with the new one!
 
I was a lurker at LMAO and then joined JUB.
The site has changed both cosmetically and commercially while I've been a member here.
There are still the old faithfuls around the forums whom I love to see.
On the whole I'm a happy bunny and have no complaints.
