I'm all for supporting local businesses, but let's not pretend they're bastions of well-paying jobs who care about their employees. their profit margins are extremely tight compared to the megacorps, giving them a lot less flexibility overall.

if I had to pick one or the other, I'd probably take a job at Walmart over working at the corner bodega.

I wouldn't, I picked the corner mechanical repair shop. Fuck Walmart and every other greed ridden mega-corp. At least the owner I work for is honest, has high moral standards, and actually cares about people. I just hope the place lasts until I'm gone...

Though Canada's health care system isn't perfect, it's pretty darn close. That's what I thought Obamacare would be like, but it's still not even close. He's just legislating that everyone must have private carrier coverage. And when a government jegislates coverage, they're giving a license to the health insurance industry to print money. You wait and see. It happened here in Ontario with auto insurance.
