Sam

I first heard this in the movie "It's My Party." Olivia sings it
over the credits at the end of the movie.

From "Funny Things Happen Down Under" '65

Re: Olivia Newton - John

I've been a fan of her album, "Totally Hot" since forever...

She does a version of Eric Carmen's (not Cartmen ;)) "Boats Against The Current" that I used to think was rather profound as a young gay kid... I remember tearing up more than once...

It seems kind of cheesy listening to it now, but still... Starting around 3:00 or so, I think it's one of her best vocals....

Adam Lambert may not be in "Glee" future, but Olivia Newton-John is. The veteran actress who claimed worldwide fame through "Grease" will guest star in a Spring episode of the new FOX series, sharing screen with the depicter of Sue Sylvester, Jane Lynch.

"I'm so excited I can't see straight! [Olivia] provided the soundtrack for my tortured adolescence," Lynch told E! Online. "Her charitable work and commitment to making others' lives and the life of the planet better is so inspiring." Sue will sing a duet with Olivia on "Let's Get Physical".

The casting came on the heels of an announcement that "Glee" has been picked up for season 2. FOX Entertainment President Kevin Reilly announced on Monday, January 11, "We loved 'Glee' ever since it was a pilot script, so it's been an incredible thrill to watch the show take root and see audiences embrace these characters in such a huge way this season. The show is a true and rare gem in television."

They are even doing nationwide casting call for three new characters that will take part in a special airing before the second season premiere. "Amateur individuals" between the age of 16 to 26 may apply for the available positions online.

"Glee" will be back on screen April 13 at 9/8c.

Re: Olivia Newton - John

I've always like this song.

Re: Olivia Newton - John

I do truly adore "Suddenly" and "Whenever you're away from me".

And guess what, whenever you search for something you'll never find it: so Youtube has no video available from the movie for both song... #-o

One of the ruddest people on earth. Ask anyone that lives in malibu or that works at the country mart in malibu what they think of this witch.

Re: Olivia Newton - John

Hopelessly Devoted to You....from Grease....but I love all of her songs..such a sweet voice she has.

Re: Olivia Newton - John

"Sam" is my favorite.

Also

Please, Mr., please, don't play B-17
It was our song, it was his song, but it's over
Please, Mr., please, if you know what I mean
I don't ever wanna hear that song again

Although most people would probably agree on that last line. But I love it.

I did a bunch of work for Olivia's fund-raising effort to build a Cancer Wellness Centre in Australia, and met her a couple of times. She was very easy to work with, charming, natural and gracious. Couldn't disagree with your assessment more, sorry.

Re: Olivia Newton - John

I've heard she is easy and pleasant to work with and I know several people who have met her and had good things to say. My own interactions with her were on the pleasant side but I have seen that she can be a bit icy and aloof sometimes. What's the scoop with these market folks in Malibu?

Re: Olivia Newton - John

Did they ever find her long missing boyfriend?

"XANADU" is a movie? I am going to see the play tommorrow. It's about disco right?

*Sigh*

Yes, it was a movie....

Xanadu.jpg

Is it about disco night ?

Umm, well sort of.... It was about, um... Hmm...

It was about movie makers in the late 70's that had way too much money and WAY too much cocaine and decided to make a movie about...

Umm, dancing wood nymphs and fairies that rollerskate and turn into heaven-bound beams of light when they crash into each other...

You know, typical stuff. ;)

Sounds like I am in for a great night.

Maybe I can talk the person I am going with to going to just dinner.

Re: Olivia Newton - John

^ Doesn't get much gayer than that, does it ?

I guess I kind of enjoy it on some level....

I've often wondered if "Xanax" got it's name from "Xanadu"

I bet there's a correlation there, somewhere...

I;m not sure what the root of "Xana" is...
