Olympiade 2026

I have no interest in any sports, let alone the Olympics.
It is nice that being gay is gradually being recognised as just another facet of the human psyche, rather than something to be feared or ridiculed.
It has been a very long time coming.

From the Opening Ceremony I never expected to see a Hoberman Sphere as a frame for the Olympic Cauldron!
I haven't seen a Hoberman Sphere since the 1990's. Plastic versions made excellent kid's toys, until the fad passed.

In addition to the fact that I won't watch the major networks any longer here, I just cannot get into a mode to care about the Olympics this year, and it is the first time ever.

It feels like a distraction from our crisis here, and I don't care if the US wins anything, as I don't think we as a nation should have been allowed to compete after invading Venezuela. I have an ugly feeling the president will go over for the closing ceremony or something, too.

Sorry. I hope the athletes who prepared for so long have their deserved moment in the limelight. I'm just disheartened with my country's fall.

We don't watch either...but this year I think we can celebrate all the out lgbtq athletes from all the different countries.

They are hopefully an inspiration to all the younger teens who love sports but are afraid of being out.

I catch the highlights online and I still watch network news for end of day wrap-ups.

Conor came in 5th place in men's 1000m speed-skating a few days ago. Gold winner was fellow American Jordan Stolz (more eyecandy, not necessarily gay). They'll both be competing again today (Saturday, Feb.14) in 500m speed-skating.

Anyone notice Daniel Grassl (from Sudtirol in Italy) in figure skating. He got a bronze medal. He skated to the musical theme from movie 'Conclave'. I saw the movie last year, but didn't take notice of the music.I'll have to watch it again.
