Has anyone seen the trailer to this yet? I was impressed. At first I thought maybe Damien was going to do something weird and monster like with red eyes or something. But he didn't.. He didn't have to do anything and it kind of unnerved me a little.

I hope its as good if not better than the original. It seems to want to stick to the theme pretty well.

I am intriuged to see this movie although it is one of the first remakes that seems a tad unnecessary to me. I like the original just fine and the first Damien was perfect in that he was a really cute kid but kind of sinister. From what can be seen of the new Damien, he seems a bit sickly and goth (like something from an Addams Family movie).

I am still looking forward to it. It does seem to be sticking close to the original (down to Damien's outfit). I wonder if they'll finish him off in the first movie or leave it open to sequels. The original spawned THREE sequels!

Jeez...no highjack intentions toward your thread Just Believe18, but aren't there any good original scripts out there??? What is this fascination with Hollywood wanting to remake everything?
That being said, I see no reason to remake The Omen. I like the original just fine.

hmmm, well i was hoping that little kid could have given a wicked smile,but...well...it was not really as impressive as i expected.

Satan doesn't need to smile wickedly. He just has to look at you and you're PWN'ed.

I think the dog was a nice touch to the trailer. It seems to hint its going to stay true to the original. Although I agree the original Omen is still very good. A little dated, but Gregory Peck is a man's man and I don't know if Liev Shrieber can raise the bar in acting the part. Julia Stiles is playing the wife though.. Everyone else is not very noticable in the cast.

There are good original scripts.. but hollywood is so interested in making money they'd rather not go out on a limb and try something new.. They'd rather go with something that has already made more money..

A complete and total waste of good actors and money. The remake of "The Omen" is a copy frame by frame of the original without the imaginative and stylish direction of Richard Donner.

This new(?) take feels like a heavily edited video clip full of shocking moments designed to win the hearts of the teen audiences.

If you didn't see the original, please rent it and enjoy one of the best horror movies ever made. In case you already did... well... it's your money.
