OMG guys WTF happened to Jeff Palmer ?! He used to be so hot now look at him ..

I did some research and he IS indeed positive and he has in fact refused treatment with antiretrovirals, he is also an admitted meth addict. I do not understand your posts deksman, what are you trying to achieve by posting this? It makes no sense, he is VERY OBVIOUSLY SICK!

Mark

No Mark, Palmer is not 'very obviously sick' - he may 'appear' sick to you (and others) due to being thin (and making relatively un-appealing stylistic choices in regards to his hair) and his history... however, testing HIV positive doesn't mean a person has AIDS or that they will necessarily develop it.
Nor does it mean a person who is HIV+ and NOT taking ARV's is automatically sick or will become sick.
Even doctors make a distinction that testing HIV+ does not automatically translate to sickness (only that it MIGHT DEVELOP into AIDS at some point) with or without ARV's.

People here seem to have jumped on the 'he is obviously sick' bandwagon without relevant data, basing their perceptions on past circumstantial evidence (at best).

Palmer's past IS to be taken into account that could serve as a POTENTIAL indicator, but do we have any relevant recent medical data (beyond him being thin, an admitted Meth addict and HIV+) that can tell us he is ACTUALLY sick now?
If the answer is 'no', then it seems to me that most people in this thread were making assumptions based on personal bias and limited information - which could also be described as 'gossiping'.

Thinness can easily be a byproduct of malnutrition (which can be due to change in diet and personal life decisions) and/or simply because of Palmer being a Meth addict (have you seen what the drug in question can do to the Human body? - thinness is just 1 possible outcome) just as much as it can be caused by wasting - neither of which has to be connected to HIV or AIDS as the scientific community understands them (seeing how Humans can have AIDS-like symptoms without actually being HIV+).

My point is, there are numerous possibilities to consider why Palmer looks like he does in that picture in the first post.
Is it possible he is sick and looking like he does because of it?
Yes, its possible (except for the hair of course), but we don't know that he actually is - and making assumptions with circumstantial evidence that claim otherwise will not change that.

Honestly, from the picture that was posted in the first post, the guy doesn't 'look' sick at all (which doesn't have to mean anything).

Deskman, if you can actually look at that picture and say he doesn't look sick (particularly if you know what he looked like before), well, I'm afraid I can't help you. And neither can anyone else.

There's thin and then there's sick. This poor bastard is sick.

Actually - Yes he is a sick Man. Long term HIV, Meth addiction plus all the other stuff we know about him PLUS the way he looks would indicate that the man is indeed in bad shape. Its very naive to have all this evidence and still say that he may have had a change in diet or there is some other reason.

HIV does wreak havoc with the body and so do the drugs that are prescribed. He also resisted any medical help for a very long time which would not have helped.

When it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck and walks like a duck, there is a very good chance that its a duck.......

If he is spreading hiv virus to other people,
he should be punished some how.

Yes, with castration (physical or chemical will do) and incarceration for at least 2 years on each offense (offense having occurred each and every time one of his partners is subjected to bareback sex without having made the decision to do so without total informed consent). Perhaps 2 to 4 years of no meth and enforced daily drug regimen will clear his head.

It is a different world today than when so many were dying. New advances, new ways of detecting and survival rates are growing in advanced countries.

Jeff has been controversial for a long time. I think he was fucked up due to drug use. My problem was his continuing his rampant sex life. He boasted about going to bath houses and doing very unsafe things with varying people. Obviously he did videos for X which must have been unsafe but I doubt that the people he worked with didn't know of his status. I would hope that he has changed his life for the better.

Just perusing this it appears that he has come under the influence of Nobel laureate PCR inventor and whacko Kary Mullis. Mullis passed on his trip to Stockholm in lieu of 'surfing on acid'.

Now my bete noir: in common usage people say 'theory' when they should say 'hypothesis', i.e. sub-theory. A hypothesis advances to theory when there's a mountain of evidence garnered from reproducible experiments supporting it. No self-respecting scientist would modify 'theory' with 'just' as in 'only'. The evidence supporting HIV1 and 2's role as the pathogen in AIDS is pretty overwhelming.

Apparently he is still alive. I just checked iafd and they say he's 48. If he were dead, they would have said " he would have been", instead of is. So, maybe he started on the cocktail at some point. Cure is around the corner. Recently, they have been experimenting with gene manipulation and have had several people cured. The treatment is in large scale trials, now. Being a long term survivor, I can't wait for the day when I no longer have to take that shit anymore. Its kept me alive and relatively healthy, but it also destroys you body in others. High cholesterol, diabetes, kidneys all affected, as well as causing lipodystrophy (fat redistribution from the face to the torso of the body., causing your face to appear sunken. But, I'm still walking around. Working out, eating healthier helps, but not completely.
