A lot of us go away for a bit and come back again.
Why do you guys do that ?
and what bothers you when you leave?
Also why do you choose to come back?:D

Well, i'm doing my rotations right now, so it's kinda hard to be on here everyday. Especially when I don't get done seeing snotty nosed kids until around 7 or so each day. THen I have to come home and log case files for my stupid school, plus go to the gym, plus cook dinner, and work on my thesis. Then again, sometimes, i'll check the forum and no one has said anything worth commenting on.

That's why I wax and wane so to speak.

I find i drift in and out of favorites on the internet, so will come here everyday for a bit, but then move onto another site for a bit, or sometimes just stop looking at the internet and do other things. There is nothing specific that makes me come or go, just lifes flow!, but if I was here everyday I would get bored. I also very very rarely use the internet at w/e as I am busy, so rarely come here then.

I don't understand why people do this. It's not as if JUB can get boring, it's constantly changing and updating. And windsors, how can it be like working? It's supposed to be a fun, social community.

SOmetimes life happens! Can't just sit in front of a computyer all the time....you gotta get out there and ring them bells!

I am off and on constantly since I joined.

I only hit Hot Topics, and when I find interesting threads, it takes all the time I wish to devote to the Internet.

Then on some comebacks, I will either see just small funny exchanges between some posters or many threads are what I would call deja vu and I just walk away. After a few weeks I come back and sometimes find deeply disturbing threads like a major one on a favorite poster being hospitalized or facing a major crisis. Then I am hooked for several days.

A lot of the friends I made here, communicate via e-mail , online chat and that also takes up a good part of my computer allotted time.

The rest of my life is spend in the great outdoors and on many trips all over.

I'm glad I came back, I never would have met my partner. But now that we no longer need JUB..... Also I'm taking the advice of another fellow JUB member who made a post on another thread about a missing JUB member.

Funny thing is that I like it like that too.
But sometimes things happen, even here,
like the flaming in a few of the forums,
and people feel frustrated by the content of a thread.

This is a good thread, for there are probably as many reasons
why people take short or longer breaks as there are JUBbers.
Work, vacations, changing interests, depression, a new love,
change in internet service, illness, school work, and new things,
and on and on.

For some it can be like work, especially if you
are a people person or a person in human services, or helping
professioins. But relax and let it happen and take time
when you need to do it too. Some will miss you and start to
post about where you have gone too. Some of us post or make a thread to mark coming and goings. Do what is best for you.

Because I have a life that goes beyond the world of the internet: I have a partner, a family, friends (the fleshy kind), a career, holidays, travel...

I've been around since the days of LMAO, and I'll be around for a long time to come. I enjoy my time here, but it's a web forum. I'm a moderator on a 43K member forum, and that's not even much of a priority to me outside of a few minutes a day to respond to emails, move a thread or two and review posts of members that are in moderation mode.

:)

Great Big C, I think you pretty much summed up what I have to say on the subject. Life is busy and it is only when I have quieter times that I come here. I have a hell of a lot of other interests that keep me occupied. The summer is for spending time outdoors, not on the computer :D

i used to be one of the everyday visitors here, but due to a job shift and my part time business, my time has become very limited and i cant just browse around reading stuff :(

I check this site daily. some days i have lots to say, most days i don't have anything to add, and don't feel like posting just to have done so.

Sometimes i'm just really bored and it's nice to come here and entertain myself for a while.
