It is tree planting day at last!
So a crew of 12 planters arrived this morning to put in this year's trees to extend f our mixed bushland. It is part of an eight year plan to plant out 100,000 trees. So far we have planted about 20,000.
They intend to do all the planting in one day this year...so about 1100 trees per person over 8 hours, or about 150 trees per hour. In un-mowed fields. My back is screaming just thinking about it.
I can do about 80 per hour for 3 hours...but then lag back to about 60 for 3 hours and then I just lie down and refuse to do any more. Which is why we don't plant our own now.
Have any of you done tree planting in your younger limber days?
