^And it doesn't seem to matter what political party, what sex, what ethnic background, what age, what sexual orientation, nor how long they have been in Washington. Job as usual.

You focus on the silliest stuff.

Who cares what time they convene?

The Democratic Congress is totally screwing up health care reform just as they screwed up the economic stimulus, and I recall no complaints from you about that. Only that they don't show up early enough. With the quality of work they've been doing, I couldn't care less if they show up at all.

Well, the Senate Finance Committee just ended with a vote of 14 yeas 9 nos. Ain't noone gonna follow this vote???
Snowe voted for it, as did Jay Rockerfeller, who I assume was uncertain.

yaaaaaaaaa

Is that a cheer?

What are you cheering?

They made compromises and got only one Republican vote -- and even that one was tempered with the implied threat that if changes aren't made she won't stick with it.

"My vote today is my vote today. It doesn't forecast what my vote will be tomorrow," she said. It does keep her at the negotiating table and at the center of the debate; Snowe risked marginalizing herself if she voted no.

In my opinion the Baucus Bill is riddled with problems anyway -- and not the kind that will be fixed going forward. I hope I'm wrong. Seriously I do.

You mean the health care bill? You mean Congress made progress today *gasp*

Yep that was the health care bill. And yes Nick that was a cheer.

You've been listening to too many Repugs.

I know, you are gonna turn this to a hate Obama, I just know it.

Well I win the 1000 bucks. He didn't mention you
It was about Obama not doing......i don't,,......
osomething like that. I went to sleep in it.

I asked what you were cheering. You didn't say.

The biggest criticism I have of the bill is that there's no public option in it.

Republicans are opposed to a public option.

I haven't mentioned Obama at all in this thread.

Why don't you tell the truth?

I don't know whether Senators should work more or not, but I'd guess that the lions share of the work of the Senate doesn't actually take place on the floor in session.

What do they do in session? The have hearings, they bloviate, and they vote. The things I think are actually important for Senators to do, like researching the issues and attending to their constituents concerns, are not done in session at all.

I'd say that most of the work isn't done by the Senators themselves, but the staff.

No, you lose White Eagle. Nick did make a nasty comment about Jockboy. He referred to him as "you," not by name. Jockboy, I want $500 of WhiteEagle's money.

I don't know that it was "nasty", but it was derisive.

You can't have the money; we're going to appropriate it for economic [STRIKE]silliness[/STRIKE] stimulus.

Yeah, but we could all tell you were thinking bad thoughts about Obama.

:rotflmao:

It was pretty simple to see what I was cheering. The 14-9 vote.

And Repugs are opposed to everything . That is why they are not included in the vote, except for Snowe. All I hear from them is no no no no no. They are the no party. That is why they are going nowhere. No nonononowhere.:p
