Ooops, 60 Minute's Benghazi Source Is A Liar.

^^^

If people are scared to talk, I'm guessing it's more than keeping a secret about who's coming to dinner.

No, no, it can't be anything but a dark horror that would lead not only to the impeachment of Obama, but also his execution, as well as that of Hilary, Joe Biden and everyone else you don't like! If only WE COULD LEARN THE TRUTH!!!

FOUR DEAD AMERICANS!

Too bad our President can't admit he habitually lied and made false claims.

Here's an apology from CBS, video included. I think it clears up any question of it being a lie. It was a lie.

And tonight, they officially broadcasted their correction/retraction after the final advertising break, after all their regular segments had already run. Isn't that kind of like the newspaper which corrects an erroneous "above-the-fold" front page story by putting the correction in one small paragraph on page 6 in the Financial section?

I think that such corrections should be run (in full) at the beginning when they summarize the upcoming segments, and REPEATED some time during the show.

I forget where I lived at the time, but the paper there had the policy of retractions/corrections/apologies being at the very end of the appropriate section, so they could be found without trouble.

I probably still have it in my DVR, because that's automatic but I watched 60 Minutes "live" yesterday.

I'll have to take a look-see, and notice whether the SUMMARY AT THE BEGINNING of the shows (where they spend about 0:40 or 1:00 talking about what will be on each segment) mentioned anything at all about an "apology" or admission they got a story wrong, etc.

It will be very telling if there is no such mention anywhere in the summary. Nothing to cue viewers that they should stay tuned after the final commercial break, which is usually the end of the show with nothing more to come other than the Credits rolling by. After the third segment is over, I think a lot of viewers channelsurf, and miss anything that comes up after that last group of adevrtising, such as the FAIL "apology" they aired.

I WOULD SUGGEST: Consider that, in board meetings and other meetings that follow the Roberts Rule of Order, the first thing often said when the meeting convenes, is "Is there any OLD business?" Retractions and corrections should always be the first thing that they do - just as I think that newspapers should put such items "above the fold" on the front page.
