Ok, I'm probably going to be the only one on here to come to her defense. And for your information, I'm not preppy. Why do people call Paris a whore? Because she has a sex tape? How many people on here post naked pictures of themself jacking off? Does that mean they should burn in hell too?

She should burn in hell because she drinks and does drives? How many people on here have done that? Personally, I don't and hate when other people do but the fact is TONS of people do it.

People tend to hate her only because she's a celebrity, or because they want to go with the flow of other celeb haters. What you people don't realize is we only see a fraction of celebrity lives. Hasn't Paris done a lot since going to jail? Taking acting and singing classes, visiting children's hospital, etc.

People need to grow up and stop obsessing over celebrities and devoting hated to them as well. I'm sure you wouldn't like all the hate and criticism if you were a celeb.

And when I say "you" I'm not saying that to just the original poster, I'm saying it to people in general.

I understand why you wouldn't like Paris, I should say. There are quite a few reasons not to. You're right; she is a horrible role model for children. If you have a daughter, and she idolizes Paris, then yes, you have a right to be concerned about her. Although I think the answer might be to talk to your daughter and tell her that Paris Hilton is not a good role model.

I understand people despairing about the state of our culture. But I think we need to try to move away from that. If we think that Paris is a terrible person to idolize, then we need to stop paying attention to her. And I agree with you again; some of the music out there is despicable. I'm no prude by any sense, but some people just go to far.

i must admit i am a huge paris hilton fan. i have been since the very first season of the simple life. it seems like people focusing on paris in a negative light is the norm for her and it makes me wonder why people care about her so much if they dislike her? I mean she is off doing her thing, working to get her money, people dont have to watch her on tv, listen to her on the radio or even pay attention to her in magazines. Role Model, she's never been a role model since day 1 and she never says she's a role model.

She's just any ordinary gal whose family got tons of family to spare. Just because she's Paris HILTON so she gets the attention.

Realistically, no one gives shit for any girls who:
a) comes from rich family with money to spare
b) parties all night from a to b to c
c) kept breaking the traffic laws
d) simply a dumb blonde
e) runs around panty-less

But because she's Paris HILTON so people gives her shit, thinks that she should serve as role model. First of all, Celebrities are just ordinary human being. They just happened to have this crown on top of their head to make them special, and all of a sudden her responsibility is to be "role models".

We create celebrity. We create the hype. They are our puppet. If they rebel, against what we wants them to do, we threw them away like garbage and hates them to death.

Paris is smart. She knows the fact she's our puppet so she does things what we want to see (sarcastically). But we all forgot she's just like you and me. Who doesn't party like there's no tomorrow? Who doesn't get drunk at parties? who doesn't get freaky at the party showing their cocks and balls and pussies? who doesn't have DUI? who doesn't get freaky or naive enough to gave home-made sex tape? Who doesn't have various sex partners? Who doesn't drop N-bombs?

I do believe Paris Hilton needs to be responsible for her acts.

But us the spectators needs to be more responsible the way we create hypes and fame of a certain person who becomes a celebrity.

I only see Paris Hilton as fascinating person, I never really like her or hate her. But public perception is just too.....absurd.

Why do people care about celebrities and other "non-news" items???

Simply put, they would rather drown out the "real" problems associated with the world: The war in Iraq, our bumbling economy, the election, and other hard pressing issues. Of course, those topics actually require some knowledge and understanding instead of looking at images of brittney's hoohah.
