Opinions on Barney Frank?

Barney is a politician. Doesn't that sum up what we all truly feel about him?

Inarticulate would be a compliment.

Ineffective.

The most chaffing iritating thing any politician does is not accept blame.

I sometimes wish we had a japanese society where those that fail off themselves. Metaphorically of course.

maz maybe the type of society you're wishing for is more like the Brits where government ministers do actually resign over matters of policy.

In this country it almost never happens (I believe the last person to do so was Cy Vance over the attempted Iranian hostage rescue) because we place a higher value on loyalty than we do individual standards or beliefs but it would be refreshing to see someone resign over something even if their post government income took the hit instead of their integrity.

Indeed, I take from my point of view. I have military leaders who have fallin on their swords because of failure that was in many ways beyond their ability to change. Yet they were in the seat of responsibility so they accepted the associated blame. All to often we do not have public servants that feel the same degree of responsibility for their actions or inactions. It is only becoming worse based on the shuffling and hemhawing of our leaders like Bill Clinton and George Bush. They have redefined self service.

Loyalty being above honor is a sign of sickness in the body politic.
