Oregon's "Driver's Card" idea -- brilliant, or foolish?

It is absurd to think that your ideosyncratic definition of " free markets" obligates us to committ economic and social suicide by throwing the door open to all 3 or 4 billion who would apparently like to come here. If you concede we should place limits, it ceases to be "free".

The corporate overlords you enjoy worshipping do not want immigration stopped. All they want stopped are social security checks.

Why do you suppose the corporate bosses do not want immigration stopped?

Has any consideration been given to the concept of traffic safety. If undocumenteds were given an opportunity to become proficient drivers, doesn't everyone benefit?

Doesn't "undocumented" = "illegal"? If they're here illegally and breaking the law by being here without respect for our laws, it stands to reason they would be willing to break other laws. What is the logic in helping them move around easier to break more laws? It also stands to reason if they were here illegally they're not going to line up at a DMV and give their name, address, and picture taken so they can be tracked.

According to the site, that's one of the big points, yes. OTOH....

Yeah. I doubt many would take this [STRIKE]trap[/STRIKE] opportunity.

I've decided to come down against this.
