Biscuit = Cookie in the U.K.

I had no idea they weren't available over there...

Maybe Hydrox were ??

They prolly never caught on over there because they don't absorb hot tea well, like shortbreads do....

They don't absorb cold milk well, either... Despite what we've been told since birth.....lol

Why has it taken so long for the Brits to adopt the Oreo? It's so fundamental here.

how could you possibly have survived so long without oreos? they're the most disgusting cookie ever invented, and i mean that in the best possible way.

of course, i've switched to mint newman o's lately. they're almost as disgusting, and they make your breath minty!

Just wait until the Brits get hold of the 'double stuff' kind !

We may be looking at another revolution ! lol

Wait, wait - they've been going without Oreos for this long? Well if they just released, they're gonna suffer a milk shortage...

Tim Tams are much yummier than oreos, 'specially the double choc coated ones ....

I don't get Oreos or M&M or Skittles, or gummy worms/bears, or twizlers.

I do get Starbursts, Ahoy chocolate chip cookies, and sour batch though.

There is no place for Oreos here with our vastly superior biscuits like Bourbons and Custard Creams, just look at what they can do:

I think Oreos have been available here for a while, I'm pretty sure I remember trying them years ago, but they seem to be pushing them more now. Hence the horrendous advert which has a REALLY irritating child in it - search youtube for "UK advert Oreos" and you'll find it.

And ozguy, dont get me started on Tim Tams we have Penguins here! :p

Cadburry's is Trashburry's. Oreo's as well. All those prepackaged industrialized cookies are crap meant for little kiddies. I prefer a soft and chewy chocolate chip cookie or a fucking brownie with some valrona chocolate.

Oreo cookies have been in the UK since at least 2005. Personally we UKers deserve to have the strawberry milkshake flavour.

Strange that the UK only gets Oreos now. Switzhurrrland had them for a while and it's usually the country with the most restrictive food permissions.

We don't even have Mezzo Mix here anymore :(

Oreos have invaded the UK and Ireland.

I'll try and save you a few quid:

They are comprised of two vile, dry, disgusting disks of compressed black soot filled with waxen, sickly sweet sludge.

I suspect that anyone claiming to actually like them is either a mole planted by the Nabisco Chemical Corporation or has a pallet of pure asbestos.

wow i cant believe you guys have never had an oreo and it is a cookie not a biscuit ahah... and is there double stuff available and the new oreo fudge sticks ummm

Seems like blasphemy that yall don't have gone without Oreo's for so long. They are just so scrumdidlumptious.

Oeros have been out in this country for years but they were American imports up until now in little shops that imported them.

Although, this thread is a bit late because they've been in the UK properly now for a few months... :P
And I thought they were biscuits because they were crunchy.

And McDonalds did an Oreo McFlurry a while ago as well, although, straight after eating it I threw up all over the train station. But that was more to do with eating an old BBQ Pork deli sandwich, being in a freezing cold cinema for 2 hours, then running 15 minutes to the train station, then getting on the really warm train for 20 minutes.

And since then no Oreo has passed my lips :(

Im gonna insist we in the UK get those goddamn flavours...its our right as cookie lovers.
