2010 has been an exceptionally bad year for celebrity deaths.

Most members here on JUB will probably remember her from "Silver Streak" with Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor. Other notable films were "An Unmarried Woman," "Starting Over," and "It's My Turn."

Jill Clayburgh, whose Broadway and Hollywood acting career stretched through the decades, highlighted by her Oscar-nominated portrayal of a divorcee exploring her sexuality in the 1978 film "An Unmarried Woman," died Friday. She was 66.

Her husband, Tony Award-winning playwright David Rabe, said she died after a 21-year battle with chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

I had the pleasure of working with Jill Clayburgh once. A class act all around.
R.I.P. Jill Clayburgh.

How very sad. :(

66 sure seems a lot younger than it used to.

I hope she finds peace.

R.I.P.

Wasn't one of my fav's but I remember enjoying her work in some films.

I'm going to wade through my VHS collection and watch Silver Streak, one of my all-time favorites. I'm sad to see her go.

OH GOD, NO!

This is the first I've heard of this. I like her a lot. 66 is too young to go.

I'm going to watch An Unmarried Woman tonight.
